Great Sounding System! January 2, 2009 Brian Bought to go with a 52" Samsung TV. Easy Hookup. Great Sound. Anynet Remote feature is a little quirky.
Don't Buy This System From Amazon December 31, 2008 Scott Mccoy (Lahaina, Hawaii USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This system may be excellent per the reviews, but Amazon's pricing is ridiculous. They have raised the price three times in the last 35 days for a total of a 150 dollar increase while suggested retail has not increased. The current price is the same as purchasing from Sears or buying directly from Samsung. Even factoring in free shipping, the price is not worth it.
Great sound....clunky navigation through devices. December 22, 2008 D. Rudger (nowhere) This product has great sound and is a nice addition to my Samsung system. 42" HD LCD and Blue Ray 1500. Although I have not experimented much, whenever trying to switch between devices ie: blue ray to vcr or vice versas, it can be a little confusing. Had to reference user manual more than once. I would consider myself somewhat proficient with setup and use of new technology. It was easy to connect all of my devices and I would recommend this with the caveat that it requires some attention to detail when it comes to navigating from one device to another.
Do Not Purchase Samsung HT-AS720ST 5.1 Home Theater System December 20, 2008 primefind (FL, USA) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Our Samsung Home Theater System HT-AS720ST was delivered in late November together with a Samsung 52" Touch of Color LCD TV, LN52A650, and Samsung BD-P1500 Blue Ray Player. The separately AC powered Sub Woofer stopped working approximately one week after receipt, and, after numerous calls with Samsung technicians attempting to resolve the problem, it was determined by Samsung that the Sub Woofer would need to be returned for repair. Not only did the Sub need to be returned, but the entire home theater system would need to be returned also. I was informed by Samsung that, as the purchaser, I would be responsible for all re-packaging costs prior to shipment, and, at my insistence, Samsung finally agreed to provide a pre-paid mail shipping label, but only one. That was two weeks ago, and I'm still waiting to receive what Samsung agreed to provide. Very poor product and service after the sale - I discovered that the first level of Samsung Technical support is almost worthless. One needs to get to a senior level technician to get anyone who, A. speaks affluent English, and, B. has a level of technical competency beyond reading the (very poorly written) owners manual back to me. Final note - the Home Theater System setup guide is partially incorrect with respect to HDMI cable interface with the Samsung Television. Altogether I am, needless to say, very dissatisfied with the Home Theater product as well as the Samsung service. The 52" Television and Blue Ray player seem to be working as advertised, but the setup was a nightmare due to poorly written and/or incorrect instructions requiring calls to Samsung to get it all working together properly.
System not operational December 19, 2008 D. Smith We connected this system to our new TV, and it worked for less than a week. Samsung Service wanted us to pack, insure and ship the system to their service center, at our expense, for service. They offered no other options. We decided to just return to system to Amazon. Amazon was extremely helpful, providing free return shipping, etc.
