CT-32SX12 is a state-of-the art 32" diagonal Tau series monitor/receiver. It combines a nifty design and a high functionality with the comfort you need. The motion-adaptive 3-line digital comb filter stores two consecutive scan lines until the third scan line comes into the filter. This filter examines 3 successive scan lines simultaneously. At a vertical transition between two colors, either the top two or the bottom two will usually be the same color. Initially, the top two scan lines will be the same color and logic directs those lines to the comb filter. When the scan moves down another line, the bottom two (of the three) scan lines will have the new color and they will be directed to the comb filter. Hence, two lines with different colors will not be input to the comb filter at a transition boundary. The Y and C signals will be fully separated and the "hanging dots" eliminated. The closed caption decoder allows you to read on-screen subtitles and other information that accompanies selected television programming. Closed captioning allows the hearing impaired to more fully enjoy television viewing and can also be helpful in improving English language skills. You can program closed captioning to activate every time the MUTE key is pressed on the remote.

The set's wideband video amplifier expands the video frequency response to more than 10 MHz, allowing for a horizontal resolution capability of more than 800 lines.p A motion-adaptive three-line digital comb filter prevents any two lines with different colors from being processed simultaneously, minimizing any "hanging dots" in the image. Horizontal edge correction sharpens the edges of objects, while vertical edge correction works in conjunction with the digital comb filter to sharpen horizontal image edges.p BBE High-Definition Sound improves speech intelligibility, and restores the dynamic range of musical passages to help provide a more natural sound. Surround Sound simulates stereo sound--even from a monaural source--by delaying the original, two-channel sound to create a "surround" effect. Artificial Intelligence Sound Control (AISC) maintains an even sound level to prevent wide variations in volume among different TV channels and types of programming.p Parental controls include channel lock and game guard, and a programmable on/off timer lets you limit viewing times (or rouse yourself from post-dinner slumber just in time for the 11 o'clock news). Good value if you don't need HDTV November 23, 2002

As an owner of other Panasonic televisions, this was an obvious choice because of compatibility with remote controls. The picture quality is crisp and the sound is good. If you are like me and do not have an HD feed and want to save some money, this is worth looking at.
