I have thoroughly enjoyed my Haier except for tonight. It appears it has stopped working. The bluw light comes on when the television is suppose to be on. The only problem is I have no picture. I guess it is safe to saythat they have a life span of 8 to 9 months. I will repair mine though, if it is not too expensive.

i bought this tv last year in december and have had no problems whatsoever. we have hd service from time warner and channels such as discovery HD come through in remarkable sharpness and detail! though the tv is supposed to be only edtv, certain channels that broadcast in 1080i show on the tv as 1080i, and/or 720p or 480i respectively. My friend has a 40 inch lcd 1080i tv, and the quality simply CANNOT compare! and my tv was a grand less at the time! if you can get one of these tv's for a good price, you will not be dissapointed! i honestly love it and am glad i went with this particular model.
the only problem i have had is programming my time warner cable box remote to power on the tv. just havent found the code yet =( someone, help me! i have the scientific atlanta explorer 8300HD with the ur5-8400 remote controller. thanks if u can help!

I bought mine dec 2005. great price and great picture. 10 months later everything went black. 3 weeks for the parts - total rebuild minus the screen. they said they have had problems and this is a standard fix paid $1300 for the tv and the tech said if i had to buy the parts it would have been $1200 plus i did have to pay $178 in labor. he talked me into extending the warrenty for another year for $278. six months later all black again. 2 weeks down - found a loose wire in a harness and replaced the board it connected to. now i have half a screen and am down another 3 weeks and still waiting for the parts for another total rebuild.----you be the judge---they are lucky this isn't college football season---PSU!

it sounds like the tv's that the other two people bought were dropped. a friend and i bought our tv's a little over a year ago and i haven't had any problems with mines at all. her tv is still working and the quality is great! my only issue is that i had to get digital cable because the regular coaxial would not work with this tv, hope this helps!

We purchased this plasma and 8 months later it stoped working. We had a manufacturer warranty, which is worse than the plasma itself. Haier promised they would replace with an upgraded model in ten days. After the ten days came and went then they say they would only replace the moniter in 15-20 business days. We are still waiting for a replacement.
