Product Description The stalwart individuals that refuse to upgrade to HDTV don't know what they're missing. Standard TV pales in comparison with HDTV. Colors and shades are deeper. Details are precise and sharp. The 32" screen of the Sharp LC32SB24U has greater dynamic-contrast and brightness than any other TV in its class. This really is a wise, affordable approach toward experiencing TV quality as never seen before and never heard before. A glossy black frame presents a stylish statement both understated and distinctive. It's the TV to get. Brightness - 450 cd/m2 Lamp Life - Up to 60,000 hours Audio System - 10-Watts + 10-Watts through built-in speakers Native Contrast Ratio - 1500 - 1 / Dynamic Contrast Ratio 7500 - 1 View Modes - Sidebar, Smart Stretch, Stretch, Zoom HDMI - Input 2 HD Component Input - 2 RGB D-Sub (PC) Input 15-pin x 1 S-Video Input 4-pin DIN x 1; Composite Video Input (A/V) RCA x 2 Audio Inputs RCA L/R x 4; Digital Audio Outputs 1 Table Stand Included, removable / Wall mount is optional and not included Power Supply 120V ENERGY STAR Qualified Sharp Limited Warranty - 1 year parts, 90 days labor Unit Dimensions - TV and Stand - 30-9/16 x 22-41/64 x 9-1/16; TV only - 30-9/16 x 20-19/32 x 3-45/64 // TV Weight (in pounds) - TV and Stand 35.3 29.8/TV only

Nice Picture, easy setup, needs strong signal September 2, 2008 L. Nathanson (USA) I also had the problem with the channel popping up in the right top corner of the screen every 30 seconds or so. I called Sharp and they answered their help line very fast, they were obviously based in the US for support, and solved the problem by having me change to an RCA input from the DirecTV box rather then a cheap cable (yes, I'm just using standard def on this TV for now). But it improved the picture and got rid of the pop-up. Still, very annoying. I was very happy with their support. As for the rest, very nice picture, good sound right from the built-in speakers, easy set-up. I would recommend as a second TV, or your first upgrade to a HDTV as it handles Standard Definition signal very well. Got it for less then $600.00, so much better then buying an off-brand with no support.
good product ruined by minor flaw August 17, 2008 Jape (Austin, TX United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am using this tv with analog cable. The box with the channel number in it keeps popping up all the time (every 30s-1min) on some channels. This is very annoying. Changing the channel takes a few seconds making channel surfing slow. Other than that it is a great product. With digital cable you should not be affected by the channel box problem. Unfortunately I do not have this option. I contacted customer support about the channel number popping up and this was their reply: "The display will populate on screen any time there is a change to the incoming signal (mono to stereo audio, weak/fluctuating signal strength). Unfortunately there is no way to deactivate the on screen display. If you are able, try using an alternate connection (composite video and analog audio; yellow, red and white cables) from your source device (cable/sat box, if using) to the unit. This will prevent this issue from occurring by providing a more consistent signal. Let me know if you have any other questions"
A great product at a great price July 21, 2008 Brian R. Kile (Flint, MI United States) 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
This DTV was purchased for my mother who had been wanting a more modern replacement to her dying 15-year-old set. Although many products are available to choose from, we chose this model because of the Sharp name and our previous good experience with Sharp Electronics and the quality behind the name as well as for its price. Since money was tight, we needed the most bang for the buck and this was our choice. The television arrived very quickly after shipping, was packed well and setup was so easy that we had it in place in just a couple of minutes. Ease of operation couldn't be any simpler. My mother, being elderly, needs simplicity when it comes to technology and this can't be beat. The quality is certainly there and we're all very pleased with the purchase.
Sharp LC32SB24U 32" 720p LCD HDTV July 14, 2008 GSM (Warminster,PA USA) 9 out of 10 found this review helpful
Picture quality is excellent - you can see individual strands of hair in head shots. Setup was a breeze. This is a good size choice if you currently have a standard 25" set. It's the same height but you get the extra width. I had some video synchronization trouble when switching channels from my cable company's pseudo digital to true digital stations. I found that you can re-sync the picture by pressing the TV remote freeze button twice, once to freeze and another time to unfreeze. I had a standard Sharp TV before and was very satisfied, and I can say the same again with my new Sharp LCD HDTV.
Great TV!!! July 5, 2008 F. Tamura (San Francisco, CA United States) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I initially considered the Samsung 330 or Sony L4000, but I saw this when I actually went to the store. The Samsung lacked S-video input, and the Sony was a little darker compared to the other two. The Sharp was also more compact around the screen with the frames being the skinniest of the three. This was also the cheapest, and it had S-video. I am extremely happy that I went with this TV. My BF has a Samsung 40 inch i the living room, but we hardly notice the difference in quality when we switch rooms. The TV is very bright and can be used in room with lots of sunlight. I recommend this to anybody shopping for a 32 inch!
