Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The DVP-NS57P/S DVD player features Precision Cinema Progressive technology, providing sharper images for a better viewing experience. Unlike other DVD players that detect image changes at the Scan line level-Sony's Precision Cinema Progressive (PCP) system detects them at the Pixel level. This results in images closer to the original source data, because separate, optimized algorithms are used to handle the differing Pixel behavior. Separate algorithms are also used to process the moving and still parts of an image, resulting in sharp backgrounds with moving objects that are free from motion artifacts. Sony's Precision Drive III mechanism is also included, which helps maximize the performance of DVD collections by reading data even on some physically "warped" discs. Other benefits include fast/slow playback with sound, and custom parental control.

Stylish DVD player September 3, 2008 Gustavo L. Lopez For the price you cant go wrong. It produces a very good image and is easy to set up and operate. Very nice looking. It does have one disadvantage....there is no S VHS connection only composite (RCA) and component. Thats why I gave it only 4 stars
Does the job August 25, 2008 Andrea Mazey 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought 2 of them when I read it plays scratched and damaged dvd's since I rent allot of movies from Netflix. The only problem I had was when I want to play a dvd for the beginning it resumes where I left off then I realized I have to select stop first. My only other complaint is that the remote is large but the buttons are small otherwise I would say I'm happy with it.
I have a question??? August 19, 2008 A. R. Garcia (Spain) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful

Does The Job August 16, 2008 murphy The Sony does a good job as advertised with no problems. Can't say the same with my previous DVD player. Appreciate playing a disk and knowing that it will work as it should.
sony dvd player August 10, 2008 MaryNeal Piazza great product, I have had nothing but bad luck with dvd players for years. This one however is awesome, no skips, doesn't overheat, has a screan saver function, is easy to use and the price is great for a namebrand product. Highly recommend this player for anyone who just wants to sit and watch some movies with no hassles.
