Amazon.com Product Description The CDPCX455 400-disc CD changer puts hours upon hours of music at your fingertips with features like cross-fade sound, text display, and an organization feature that makes it easy to find your favorite songs and albums. Because the CDPCX455 plays MP3s as well as CDs, you can expand the already-massive capacity of the player, and literally play the CDPCX455 for days on end. The CDPCX455 can play audio CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs, as well as CDs with MP3 files. You can program the CDPCX455 to play CDs or tracks one by one, in random order, or in your own customized order. A history search allows you to return to CDs that you have recently played, and you can browse through all of your CDs by name, so you'll never lose track of what CDs are in the player or what order they are in. You can also custom-label CDs stored in the CDPCX455 for quicker retrieval. The CDPCX455 includes a jog dial control that gives you quick access to individual CDs or tracks. With the jog dial, you can listen to snippets of music or skip tracks you don't like quickly. For power users or music lovers with a deep library of CDs, the CDPCX455 can synch up with another CD changer. You'll never have to wait for a disc to change to keep the music playing, thanks to a cross-fade feature that brings the audio of one CD down at the same time that a new disc starts to play. By adding a second changer, you can expand your access up to 800 CDs total, and both changers can be controlled by a single remote. The hybrid pulse digital-to-audio converter reproduces a warm, natural sound from your CDs, making you feel like you were there when the music was recorded. You can easily connect the CDPCX455 to an audio receiver with analog RCA-type and digital optical outputs. An analog connection instantly synchs the CDPCX455 to another changer, and a Control A-1II cord links the CDPCX455 to any other Sony components in your audio system or home theater. A headphone jack is also featured. What's in the Box CD changer unit, RCA audio cord, ControlA-1II cord, remote control, two AA batteries, owner's manual.

Absolute garbage January 3, 2009 Eli Ellison (California, USA) Today, two years after my cx455 odyssey began, I have finally rescued all my cds from this shoddy player. After I finish writing this review, I will be taking the unit out back and destroying it with a sledgehammer. Yes, I hate it that much. I received the player two years ago as a Christmas gift. Unfotunately, I didn't hook it up to my system and load it with 400 cds for some six months. It worked ok at first, but then the problems described by so many other reviewers began happening. Tracks began skipping on brand new CDs that had gone straight from the jewel case into the player. Soon after, it stopped working all together. Of course, because I had waited so long to set up the unit, the warranty had expired. I thought about having it repaired, but then read some of these negative amazon reviews and decided it would not be worth it given the CD scratching-and-scuffing problems others have mentioned. I'm back to using my old Sony 200 disc changer, which is still running strong after 8 years. When I get around to buying a new 300 or 400 disc changer, I can assure you it will be anything but a Sony. They have lost a formerly loyal customer for life.
WARNING! THIS CD PLAYER RUINED MY CD'S December 3, 2008 K. King 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This CD player started skipping badly on almost every song I tried to play. When I pulled out my CD's I noticed that they were badly scratched all around the edges. Don't even think about buying this CD player unless you want to throw away thousands of dollars worth of CD's. I wanted to give this item a zero star rating, but the lowest option they allow is a one.
sony megachanger November 25, 2008 P. Cassidy love not having to change cd's all the time. its a little slow when going from cd to cd but all in all is a great product.
Sony 400 Disc Changer October 10, 2008 Mary E. Lahiff (Marinette, WI) Great CD Player. Just what I was looking for! Quick service also. Thank you!
VERY SATISFIED September 13, 2008 Tonyd52 (Chicago, Il.) I have 2 more 400 disc cd players already, and I just added another to increase my collection. For the price you can't go wrong with SONY. I haven't had any problems with mine. Will buy another if still available when this one fills up.
