1 out of 5 stars Belkin Tune Cast FM Transmitter   November 5, 2007
AHR (Texas)
Did not work very well. The frequency this device transmits in 71.5 to 71.9 FM was very hard to tune in. This part of the dial is very crowded where I live. I keep getting interference.

1 out of 5 stars Awful   May 21, 2007

Pro: br /-Small and lightweight br /-Simple to set up br /-Program to broadcast to any station on your radio br / br /Con: br /-Almost no broadcast strength, pretty much all you get is static. Just stops short of "does not work at all." br /-Runs on batteries only br /-No display to warn of low battery condition br /-Assuming you get a usable signal, depending on the stations in your area you might need to change the stations that you are broadcasting frequently, a limitation of this technology br /-Overpriced, even if yours functions br / br /Bottom line: Worthless. One of the worst electronic items I've ever owned, if not the worst. Recommend a direct connection to your radio as your best option (if possible) or another FM transmitter with some muscle.

1 out of 5 stars worst road trip with belkin   March 4, 2007

if you have a passenger who will hold the ipod and transmitter (dangling from a 2 inch cord) somewhere in the center of the vehicle, while trying not to brush a flimsy little lopsided button, you might just get some static that sounds like your favorite song. that thing isn't worth the 50 cents belkin paid to produce it.

1 out of 5 stars Piece of Garbage   January 15, 2007

Don't waste your money on this junk. Not even powerful enough to transmit a clean signal when it is sitting on the dashboard, within 6" of the car's antenna. What a horrible, horrible, horrible disappointment. Every Belkin employee should be publicly flogged for allowing this piece of garbage to be released to the unknowing public.

4 out of 5 stars A very good product, with a few conditions   August 16, 2006

Those conditions are not in the control of Belkin and other manufacturers of these sorts or products. For the Tunecast to work, most of the following will typically have to be true: br / br /--your car radio should be fairly sensitive br /--your car's antenna should be of high quality br /--the antenna should be near the location of the transmitter br /--there should be no radio stations, weak or strong, on the chosen frequency br / br /If all of those are met, this product and others like it will work well. br / br /Now some bits about the Tunecast specifically. br / br /I would not recommend the device unless you already have rechargeable AAA batteries or are prepared to buy batteries on a fortnightly basis. The device is battery powered, and it's quite easy to leave it on overnight. I already had rechargeables, so this was not a problem for me. br / br /The Tunecast is dirt simple to operate. The only switches are the power button and the frequency selector. A green LED lights up when the unit is on, which is something I like. The only setup required is putting batteries in the unit and connecting the audio connector to your source player. br / br /Overall, I recommend the Tunecast if you can meet the conditions above. You might consider borrowing a similar unit from friends or family to verify that it will work for you before buying one outright. The differences between this product and others like it are fairly small as their power output is sharply limited by FCC regulations.
