Emerson Smart Clock Radio January 2, 2009 L. Katyl (PA) The smart clock radio was all the manufacture claimed. The clock set it self to the correct time when pulgged-in and the radio has a great sound.
Looked like a great alarm.... December 30, 2008 Theodore P. Strong (Phoenix, AZ) ...unfortunately it was DOA so we could not even try it out. Now we have to pay for it to be returned. What's up with that??
Wow. What a nice clock radio December 27, 2008 W. Gleaves (Baltimore - MD) I wasn't sure about this product, because my experience with Emerson hasn't been great, however, I tried it anyway....and love the clock radio! It has a super large display, with the 2 alarm times displayed right on the front! Why aren't all alarm clocks made this way? I can't tell you how many times I have screwed up the old alarm clocks when I went to simply check the alarm time. No more. Plus, when I plugged it in, it went straight to the current time (we are in the Eastern Time Zone) everyone else has to set the correct time zone. It even has a rocker to set the time both forward AND back! Wow, how many times have you had to go thru 23 hours just to set the alarm back 1 hour? No more. I love this clock.
Great clock, big improvement! December 26, 2008 F. M. Azzaro (Dallas, TX) I bought this to replace an Emerson SmartSet Dual Alarm that I've had for only a year or so. This one is a HUGE improvement over my old one! I *love* that the alarm times are on the display letting me know at a glance (a) that I set the alarm, and (b) what times I've set it for. Very reassuring. And I really like the feel of the volume control dial. My old Emerson dial was loose and "tricky" - the volume was either SCREAMING LOUD or off, no in between. So I am thrilled to now be able to listen to the radio while reading in bed. Another improvement is that the display spells out what day of the week it is instead of having a little light glow underneath the word. With the little light feature, you're only sure what day of the week it is if it's Sunday (far left) or Saturday (far right). The new clock let's you see at a glance the day of the week, i.e., "TUE". My only complaint would be the "wave-on" feature for the display. Oh, I like the idea of the clock being dark until I wave my hand in front of it. . . but why does it have to light up on the "bright" setting? Let's see, it's pitch black, I can just barely make out the shape of my clock on the night stand by moonlight, and -bam!- bright light! bright light! OUCH!!! Wouldn't it make more sense for it to light up on the "dim" setting? Or at least give the user a choice? But all in all I am very happy with this clock.
Buzzer Level Not Adjustible Model CKS3020 December 24, 2008 M. Warner The buzzer is NOT loud. Average to below average. I also agree with Quirky's rating. Sneeze on it and it might not go off. Or, it might. You take the chance. I already slept though both buzzer alarms set at highest level and 30 minutes apart. Maybe my cat touched it or a dust bunny bumped it. Whatever. It is going back. It gets 2 stars and not one because the music alarm level is LOUD. This is the model CKS3020. It doesn't say that on the Amazon description.
