Amazing December 29, 2008 Kate Black (St. Louis, MO) I was able to pick up the P2 for only $149 and what an amazing product. I really wanted a video player to watch tv shows on but I needed a rhapsody to go compatible player. The P2 was the perfect option. It plays awesome video that you can buy from [..] or StarzPlay. I also can download unlimited music from rhapsody for one monthly price. It is bluetooth enabled and also includes games. It even has subway maps for major cities all over the world, so for someone who loves to travel this is an amazing asset. Includes a world clock, alarm, fm radio with recorder, video player, pictures, and you can even customize the wallpaper and menu with free downloads or design your own. The audio quality is much better than ipod. The touchscreen can be a little difficult with some of the smaller buttons but is not a problem once you get used to it. I have had a lot of mp3 players and ipods in the past including the sansa e260, Zune, and ipod and this is the best of all of them. Definitely you can get more for your buck, especially if you shop around for the best price. I did.
Exactly what I wanted - NOT an ipod! December 28, 2008 R. Collier (Pullman, WA) I received the item from Amazon and followed the instructions that came in the package. The instructions could be a bit more clear about how to use the interface on the player, but once I figured this out, I quickly adapted and haven't looked back. The bluetooth connectivity is simply fantastic (though you can't listen to the radio, but this is of minimal concern to me), allowing me to use my handsfree headset (Motorola - see my other review). I also am really impressed with the DNSe (Digital Noise Sound engine) technology that you can read about in a small file that comes on the player. In a nutshell, Samsung has used physics in a neat way to trick your ears/brain into "hearing" a much broader range of frequencies than what the speakers/headphones are physically capable of reproducing. The result is very nice. In summary, scores of people rave about their ipods, but I don't think that apple has anything approaching the level of this product with great sound and wireless sound transmission that is more practical for active people.
5 star buy! December 22, 2008 Me Bought this for my husband's birthday. He is a tech junky and had never seen a MP3 like this. He LOVED it. The touch screen is the best I've ever seen. The picture is a lot like a plasma TV. I do not agree with the comments I read about the screen being shaky or hard to see. It is very crisp, maybe they had the screen to close to their face??? Also, the sound quality is oustanding. My husband loves to crank it up full blast- sounds like surround sound. The headphones that come with it are very comfortable- although I will say that they don't do much in the way of blocking sound from others. If you are looking to make full use of that sound quality you spend the money for and not bothering those around you, I would suggest getting headphones that are a little more condensed to your ear canals. These ones are the wide ones with cushions. This one is well worth the money you spend. For those that don't know much about MP3's and have a loved one that you're buying for this is an EXCELLENT MP3 and will impress! Perfect score!
Just the one i was lookin for! December 20, 2008 Myung S. Choan (CA) Its great mp3 to use and some parts were hard to get, like dictionary, brcause i am korean. But it is good mp3
Great product minus the motion blur December 18, 2008 A. Co (Champaign, IL United States) If you are interested in ripping dvds to the Samsung P2 be mindful that the display has problems with motion blur. Motion blur occurs most noticeably during action scenes or quick camera movement. While I've enjoyed watching hours of video on my P2, I was constantly reminded of this flaw. Pros: Size is great FM radio and video capabilities Cons: It is plagued with motion blur The P3 is coming out soon. Perhaps they solved the problem. As a side, I sold my P2 and bought an ipod touch. It has no problem with motion blur...but it is also bulky and more expensive.
