BAD BATTERY CHARGER November 23, 2008 Armando Diaz (Monterrey, Mexico) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am extremely unhappy with the MicroTalk Cobra LI5600-2DX VP up to 20 miles. I bought a pair 7 days ago and one of these doesn't work . The battery doesnt charge and his range in urban setting is no more than 900 feets. The voice quality is crackling and noise. This unit is only good for kid's back yard use and not for people like me, that goes to skiing to the mountains and need a good radio. I Will NOT recommend it to anyone...really. I'm back to use my old Motorola Two ways....T6400 ......
Reception range limited September 17, 2008 R. Chow (LB, CA) I bought these radios a couple days after the Chino Hills quake with the specific intent of emergency use. (Cel phone lines were extremely erratic the first couple of hours after the quake). My mom lives about 1.06 miles away from me, but I figured that the range ratings of these radios were typically overblown. Still, I bought them just to give them a try. As expected, being in a (beach)city environment, reception with my mom was virtually non-existent. I was told by my paramedic friend that I needed a more robust system like those used by the FD or Police or military. Returning the radios to Amazon was a breeze.
works well enough, but range limited September 8, 2008 Sebastian Dunne (Arlington, VA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The radios worked as expected. I like that the batteries are Li ion and I don't have to fully deplete them before re-charging. I assumed that the advertised range of 20 miles was exaggerated and it was; 2 miles through thick woods was about the limit.
Compare Battery Capacity July 30, 2008 M. Crew (Florida) 4 out of 11 found this review helpful
The Cobra LI5600 has a 650 mAh battery. The Cobra LI6700 has a 950 mAh battery.
Great Product July 4, 2008 Robert J. Casparian (Utah) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
My wife and I purchased the raidos so that we could communcate back and fourth while I was pulling our trailer and she was pulling our boat. It work great with the exception when you get out of line of site, but thats for most of the raidos. Otherwise when I was on the lake fishing we were able to chat and I could tell her all the big fish I was catching. It works well and easy to operate. This is our first raido and I would recommend this product.
