0/5 stars November 7, 2007 Scott L. Kellogg I was very dissatisfied with this product. The color was completely distorted and I had to watch the television on black and white. When I e-mailed the store, they said it was due to being near another electronic, but when I moved the TV away it didn't work, and I e-mailed the store back and never got a response. I am very disappointed and will likely end up throwing this product out.
Buyer Beware - RCA not helpful if you have trouble with this tv August 29, 2007 Hofhine68 (La Crescenta, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My daughter won this television in a raffle. We brought it home and it was bob - bad out of the box. I sent an email to their customer service and received an email reply to call thier customer service number. I called the customer service number. The cust. serv. rep. said that because we didn't have a purchase receipt RCA would do nothing...even though we have photo documented proof of the box being factory sealed prior to our opening it (along with my daughter opening the first thing she has ever won) AND dated raffle tickets. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was disconnected. Maybe not intentionally, but with the tone of the conversation it sure felt like it. Bad form RCA!

After about five years, my 20" Sanyo began to develop wavy black lines all over the screen. Maybe that's understandable considering it's been on almost continuously without a break for those fives years, but either way, it was time for a replacement. Browsing the televisions at Walmart, I found the RCA 20F420T with the manufacturing date of July, 2006. The picture was wonderful. Much better than my Sanyo ever had. After checking the specs, it seemed to have all the features I needed. Headphone jack, composite inputs, MTS stereo, full picture controlls, and simulated surround sound. Even treble and bass controlls. I decided to buy one. After it was brought home, I hauled it out of the box and lugged it on to the TV stand. The first oddity I noticed was the complete and total nonexistence of a headphone jack. Very puzzling since Walmart's display model had one. Feeling uneasy, I hooked it up to my cable and turned it on. Holy god. The picture was worse than a trainwreck. Grainy, blurry, and horrificly warped inward at the sides. The sound was the worst MONAURAL I've ever heard. It was like listening to it through a wall from the next room over... Not to mention the sound controlls had been completely removed. Wondering why the audio and picture were NOTHING WHATSOEVER like the diplay model at Walmart, I checked the manufacturing date on this lemon. It was September, 2006. I returned it the next day. I guess without any warning to anybody, RCA decided to "revise" the 20F420T into an utter garbageheap after July, 2006. So completely without warning infact, that alot of online retailers, including Walmart's own website, still list the 20F420T with its former specs as of the writing of this review. So as I continue to watch my Sanyo as I await my next try at a replacement, I contemplate how even in it's dying condition it blows away the brandnew September, 2006 model 20F420T. RCA now has one less customer.
