Great picture + one major problem July 19, 2008 Ted S. (San Jose, CA USA) I've owned this set for about 18 months now and overall have been pleased with the purchase. Before I bought my first HDTV, I searched around for several weeks and narrowed my choices down to the Sony XBR2 series and this JVC. They both had the best picture in my eyes. As the JVC was about 25% cheaper, my decision seemed simple. br / br /However, after only 4 months of ownership, one of the main circuit boards developed a problem and I had to have it picked up for warranty repair. The part was on backorder, so I was without a TV for a month. Since then, the TV has performed without issue.
Outstanding Field of View and Clarity November 29, 2007 Cliff Somers (Birmingham, AL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have watched this set for a little over a year -- two football seasons. Yet to find a rear projection set that matches the field of view. That includes months of searching before purchase and continued showroom visits since the purchase date. You can watch from either side of the set and not notice the blackening effect of most RP TV's. Plan on a surround sound system for this size screen for full enjoyment. I consider HDILA superior to any DLP set I have seen. Even superior to the more expensive Sony technology. No repair issues in the year plus of fairly heavy use. My connection is cable.
Good Product November 20, 2007 P. RILEY (Jacksonville, FL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Delivered on time. Very pleased with the picture (I have an HD satellite hook-up). The speakers are fine, even though I have the audio output hooked up to my stereo for even better sound. Inputs work fine. I have my PC and a DVD recorder/player attached to different inputs and I'm very happy. The fact that you can replace the bulb yourself is a plus! The only drawback I've found is that I can't figure out how to get the video output to work, even after trying to find the solution on the net, so 4 out of 5 stars.
Beautiful picture, simple to use August 13, 2007 Mike Schackel (Stuttgart, Arkansas, USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Shipped on time, with delivery into the house. No damage, the driver helped to open it so I could inspect it before signing off on it. The television has a beautiful picture, especially when coupled with an HD signal. The picture is bright, but can be turned down through the on screen controls. The TV remembers the settings for each video input. There are seven video inputs that can be selected. The labels are well marked. The built in speakers are okay, but a TV like this needs a superior sound system to go with the picture.
