Product Description The sharp, clear picture of the Toshiba 46RF350U 46" REGZA 1080p Widescreen HDTV LCD hovers vividly in midair, due to Toshiba's Super Narrow Bezel at under 1" wide. Toshiba's 10-bit LCD provides 64 times more colors than a standard 8-bit panel, offering smoother transitions between color changes and during subtle shade transitions. The xvYCC color standard provides 1.8 times more color than existing HDTV signals. With Full HD, there's no need to scale down a 1080 signal. With twice the pixel resolution of 720p HD models, Full HD creates the pinnacle in picture quality. Superior processing creates a superior picture, and REGZA LCD TVs with PixelPure 3G set themselves apart with incredibly deep, sharp, and natural images, for home theater beyond your imagination. Creates superior black for deeper, more lifelike images, even in low light environments. Good solid LCD HDTV December 2, 2008 QY I bought it in May 2008 and waited until Dec 2008 to give a review. After 6 months of usage, I am fairly satisfied with its performance. There is nothing fancy in terms of feature. I am actually glad Toshiba get rid of the picture-in-picture. Let's face it, how often do you watch two TV shows at the same time. The nicest thing about this TV is its slim size. In terms of picture quality, it is as good as you can get from any HDTV. I hooked it up with AT&T U-Verse to watch football games in 1080i HD. A reminder, currently all US HDTV signals are 1080i. 1080p is the future, but we have to wait. Honestly, I can't tell if there is any difference between this TV and other brands. Toshiba's replacement for this model 46RF350U, which is 60Hz, is almost the same TV but with 120Hz. Unless you watch Blue Ray DVD exclusively, 60Hz is enough for 2 more years.
Works and looks Great! October 4, 2008 Philip J. Beaudet (Burney, CA USA) I have used this product for more than six months. I has an excellent picture. I have not noticed any pixellation. It is on 10-12 hours a day. The only video it sees is from my DirecTV HD box via HDML. I am fully pleased with my purchase.
TV completely died after 1 month of use. June 30, 2008 TechGeek (USA) 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
I bought this model since I found it on sale at a local store. The unit was brand new and factory sealed when I bought it. After one month of average use (4-5 hours viewing per day), the TV just suddenly died one day while we were viewing a program. We checked that the surge protector wasn't tripped and the power cord was installed correctly. After spending 30 minutes troubleshooting, we couldn't get the unit to function again. This is the worst experience that I have ever had with any electronic devices and I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a high quality product such as myself.
A Great Choice for Picture Quality and Ya Gotta Love the Thin Bezel! June 22, 2008 J. Bohte (Milwaukee, WI USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I previously bought the 40" Super Thin Regza and liked it so much I decided to get the 46" for the living room. One remote for two TV's... No learning curve... limited instruction manual reading... and previous experience with Toshiba quality. Plus this thing just looks ultra high-tech whether turned on or not. We couldn't be happier! It's priced right and we even got Saturday delivery. Beautiful crisp HD picture, great with an upconverting DVD player (now available for under $60 including the HDMI cable!), adequate with normal programming like every other 1080p.
Very disappointed June 2, 2008 kam57 (Seattle, WA) 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
I purchased this TV in Nov'07. By April '08 some of the 'pixels' were all one color. An approved shop came, couldn't fix it at my house, and took it in to their shop. Its been 17 days and I'm waiting on Toshiba to "approve" a new screen. After they approve it, it will take 7 to 10 days to ship it then another 2 or 3 days to install it and it has to 'run' for 3 days before it can be returned. I've asked when a decision will be made by Toshiba regarding shipping the needed part - I cannot talk directly to the people who know that information. The guys on the phone are nice enough, but unwilling or unable to answer the question of when the techs will make a decision regarding how to proceed without an intermediary and a 2 or 3 day delay. If they ship the part tomorrow (and I'm doubtful that's going to happen), To get warranty repair I will have been without my TV for (currently estimated 30 days.)ON EDIT: It's now been 30 days with the TV in the shop. The part needed has been approved but is apparently on back order and will be at least 30-45 more days before it's available to ship. The best case scenario for a warranty repair is ... TV out of my house for 2.5 MONTHS. 0N FURTHER EDIT: The end of the story. Toshiba agreed that the lag was too long to wait for replacement part so they decided to replace the TV I purchased with a newer model. It was shipped to my house. Unfortunately, the new TV straight out of the box would not power up. I refused delivery and Toshiba shipped out another replacement TV. This one is working. Total time to get warranty issue resolved - two months. May 17th to July 16th. Buyer beware. My experience with reliability and customer service has not been good. I will not buy Toshiba again.
