I bought one of these in the middle of December and it had a minor defect. So minor, that Samsung said that it was within specifications and wouldn't repair it. The problem was that there was a faint discoloration in the bottom right corner of the screen. It was only noticeable in dark scenes or when a film would be letterboxed. br / br /Well, Amazon was great and let me replace my set for a new one, and so far I have had no problems at all. The title is a little misleading though, this is my third 61" LED from Samsung. I don't count the first though because it was an open-box from Circuit City and it had a horrible LED engine problem. I blame it on the previous owner and not Samsung. br / br /I highly recommend this set to any person that wants to see HD movies and games the way they were meant to be seen ;)

After shopping for a couple years, I finally bought this set. The picture is big, bright, and very adjustable. The sound is better than I've heard on other tvs -- there are only two speakers, so it's not going to sound like a 5.1 system. br / br /What really impresses me is Samsung's warranty. After a few days, I noticed a problem, and called them. It turns out that the warranty is for 1 year, no-charge inhome service. The tech was just here, and the issue turned out to be a minor adjustment. (HINT: Leave the picture size at 16:9.) br / br /Overall, I love this set. It's not quite as crisp as a plasma or good LCD, but who wants to spend that kind of money for a screen half the size of this one? I haven't tried Blu-Ray yet, but am looking forward to it. br / br /Get this set while you can -- there's no bulb to replace and when you turn the TV on, it warms up in about 10 seconds.

Great TV br /Lots of Ports br /Excellent picture br / br /You would have to spend $2500-4000 for a comparable LCD... br / br /Colors are vibrant.. Blacks done fairly well. br /This model is around 400 or $500 more than the HL61A650, but you get a much better contrast ratio (10000:1 vs 2500:1), and the LED bulb is supposed to last longer than the traditional bulb.

This SAMSUNG HL61A750 replaced a SONY 50 inch LCD projection br /TV which had an optical block defect. SONY settled with end br /users on this problem for sets manufactured from 2004. My set br /was made in November 2003, so I was out of luck. br / br /This was my first major Amazon.com purchase, and overall the br /results were quite good...easy ordering, free delivery in less br /than one week, and helpful setup. br / br /From a video standpoint the set is very impressive, delivering br /greater visual impact than it demonstrated in the retail outlets br /where I saw it on display. I was truly impressed by the picture br /right out of the box, and further adjusted it to my preferences br /quite easily. Plenty of punch, even in daylit room conditions. br / br /The set features a rather extensive set of connections, br /conveniently placed on the side of the base so as to eliminate br /the need to get to the rear of the unit. br / br /So much to see .. so easy to make connections, it therefore br /saddens me that the set has SO LITTLE FUNCTIONALITY with br /home theater systems! br / br /Where were my fellow reviewers on THIS issue, I wonder! br / br /For starters, be aware that the audio output of this set, br /whether analog or digital, is fixed and flat! Although the br /set has a volume control and sound equalization, all of these br /features work only with the set's internal speakers. None of br /them work with the audio out connections. br / br /Further, the supplied remote works ONLY with the TV. It is NOT multifuntional with most home theater systems (except perhaps br /SAMSUNG's) or cable boxes! I telephoned SAMSUNG customer br /assistance and they verified these limitations. br / br /That's right friends .. you must invest in your own remote to br /get this gorgeous set to properly function with external devices. br /I would be surpised if SAMSUNG'S LCD or PLASMA sets have these limitations. I'm sure this was an oversight in the set's design. br / br /Bottom line, most buyers of a 61 inch screen would want to enjoy a certain degree of ease of use with cable box and home theater connections. With the SAMSUNG HL61A750 they have their work br /cut out for them. br / br /Still, with the above caveats in mind, I would rate this set br /4.5 out of 5 for the video performance. br / br /
