Product Description Displays HDTV programs in full 1920 x 1080p resolution for a more detailed picture.Unlike other sensors which can only sense brightness of ambient light, LG's "Intelligent Sensor" uses 4,096 sensing steps to evaluate its surroundings. Using a sophisticated algorithm, the LG processes picture quality elements including brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and white balance. The result is a picture optimized for it's surroundings, more pleasing to watch and which can also save up to 50% in power consumption. The AV Mode optimizes the picture into Cinema, Sports, and game Mode according to the video and audio content. The viewer has the ability to quickly choose the correct mode for the picture they are viewing.Automatically enhances and amplifies the sound of human voice frequency range to help keep dialog audible when background noise swells. This TV contains the detailed calibrations necessary for professional certification by the Imaging Science Foundation. The resulting ISF "day" and "night" modes will then be accessible by the user to experience the best their LG HDTV has to offer.

LG37LG50 September 26, 2008 marie (Downingtown, PA United States) The service was great. I had originally ordered from another vendor, but they were out of stock for weeks. I cancelled my order and ordered here. The service was very fast and the TV is fantastic! Friends and relatives are very impressed with this TV!
Does it's job, the second time around... September 14, 2008 The Shoe Brain (New York, NY) While I didn't buy it via Amazon (sorry Amazon people), I purchased through a brick-and-mortar strictly because I haven't converted to making big purchases online. I bought this thing for two reasons: br /1. I hadn't had a TV for over a year, I was overdue. br /2. Picture quality. I searched high and low and stared at many, many HDTVs, in so many different stores, so much so that my eyes hurt. This was the best one (within the size I was looking for, 32-37" as this is what space I had/have allocated in my apartment). Picture clarity is key! That's the whole point of HD, correct? br / br /So, first thing's first, I received a dud. Yes, a dud. It was working no more than a day before the brain of the TV just died on me (don't ask for technical terms, it's the part that makes the screen display a moving picture as opposed to lines moving across the screen). I don't know if anyone else ran into this problem, but it was a tad annoying. I do believe, however, based on many other reviews, that I was the unlucky one to receive a defective one. br / br /The part was replaced, and now it's all good :). Clarity is there, haven't had any problems since (I'm on month three), and did I mention I love it? br / br /Downside: don't sit too close, your eyes will definitely hurt. Quality is just that sharp--at least on HD channels. br / br /Oh how I cannot wait until Feb '09 rolls around when the rest of the channels hop on board. My life will be very close to complete :).
Great Hi-def television! July 5, 2008 H. Johnson (Fort Worth, Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I looked at the Scarlet series but for the price this was a great value. I really like the clear voice feature - it makes a big difference. Easy installation. I would rather have a matte surround because the glossy reflects light. The HD is fabulous! I would definitely recommend to friends.
One of the best investments I've ever made July 1, 2008 T. Erickson (PA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I did many weeks' worth of research online regarding HDTVs, since I was in the market for one. I have had this TV for a few weeks now and the quality is nothing short of absolutely fantastic. I bought a PS3 right around the same time and playing video games and viewing Blu-Ray movies is just spectacular. In the evening, if there are no lights on except for the TV, it's better than being at the movie theater! br / br /I bought the 37" because with all the features included with it (and it supporting 1080p), the price really couldn't be beat. That and when I was at the store comparing them, it just looked more brilliant and bright compared to the similar Samsung 37" right beside it (plus it was $200 cheaper). When I took it back to my apartment, I was blown away by how large it really is; they don't look so large in-store when they're near the 46" and 52" TVs! br / br /Setup is pretty simple. Didn't take too long, though the screws for the base of the TV stand are set a bit deep, so it was a little tough to fully tighten them in. Something else that left a bit more to be desired is the sound. If you don't have a home theater system already (which I don't), you may be cranking the volume up more than you normally would. br / br /All in all, this HDTV is incredible. Be sure you do your research, but I doubt you'll be disappointed with this one!
LG TV June 17, 2008 TV Reviewer (Palo Alto, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We really like the LG TV. The swivel stand is great for our use. It was easy to set up. The only negative thing is that the plastic sides top of the TV glare. The screen does not, but why have the sides and top shine and reflect room or outside light?
