Great Deal December 29, 2008 D. Douglas The product came in a timely manner. When it got here, UPS had punched a big hole in the box and messed up the stereo. I let Discount Jungle know and the arranged a pick up and sent out a new one pretty quick. I was very satisfied in the service and the product itself. Maybe after not having a stereo for 3 months, anything sounds good. I forgot to mention the excellent price I got it for. Saved about $100.
Another good mid-level Kenwood product April 22, 2008 David A. Edwards (Mesquite, TX USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This stereo has a display very similar to the X991 of mine. This was quick to install and tune, as it's just Bass, Mid, and Treble, as well as crossovers. The vehicle in question has stock 6x9's in rear, and Pioneer 6.5's in front. The bass, unlike most decks, doesn't distort speakers easily. Thus, though this vehicle has no subwoofers, there is still a bit of low notes on music, at least enough to keep things interesting. The three line display is beneficial, and is adjustable. The one downside I see is this stereo does not have RDS, which I knew upon purchasing, but is still quite disappointing. It does, however, have CD-text/ID3 tag reading for MP3 CDs/USB. This stereo is good for all types. I use an X991, basically top of line from 2007, and would definitely use this stereo on a day to day basis. The eXcelon lineup is amazing! I just can't wait to amplify the vehicle this was installed to, to bring out the true Kenwood sound.
