Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Very high quality gold banana plug set. Knurled barrel and compression nut with floating "slug". The floating "slug" allows tight wire compression without the twisting effect on the wire strands that other compression connectors have. Side-entry accepts up to 8 gauge wire while the rear-entry accepts up to 8 gauge wire. Also accepts rear-entry banana plugs for stacking. Overall dimensions: 1-7/8" L x 7/16" W. Sold in pairs: 1-red and 1-black per package. Instructions: Side entry cable installation: Loosen rear compression screw in counter clockwise fashion to expose side opening on banana plug. Remove approximately 5/16" of insulation from speaker cable. Insert exposed wire (up to 12 AWG) into side opening. Tighten rear compression screw to secure wire. Rear entry cable installation: Remove rear compression screw and compression slug from banana plug. Remove approximately 1/4" of insulation from speaker cable. Insert speaker cable into rear compression screw. Fan wire (up to 8 AWG) and fold conductors over the rear compression screw. Ensure that conductors do not interfere with rear compression screw threads. Insert compression slug first into the banana plug. Install rear compression screw securing cable to banana plug.

5 out of 5 stars A much easier way to connect your HT wires   October 18, 2008
M. Wessinger (Chapin, SC United States)
These work great. I was having a little bit of trouble with the screw down connectors on the back of my receiver, but the receiver's connectors also accepted banana plugs. So, I ordered these and they definitely made it a lot easier. The connectors are well made and work great. Make sure you have a TINY screwdriver as the set screws in these need to be tightened down all the way, or the screw on cover will not go on.

The quality at this price point is unmatched. You would be hard pressed to find better quality even at a much higher price point. I took no points off for the lack of directions because of those 2 facts, and it took me under 5 seconds to find a guide online. For piece of mind, I wrapped them in electrical tape which was probably unnecessary but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

The other day I bought some plugs locally that cost twice as much because I was being impatient. Big mistake. They were returned the same day and I'm back here buying these again.

I've found that wires easily come out of the plugs. The smooth slug used to compress the wires have poor grip. For some reason it seems the cap that is used to screw down onto the internal slug also easily becomes loose. I'm really disappointed and would not purchase again.

5 out of 5 stars All Plugs and No Complaints   February 12, 2008

I purchased five sets of these Banana Plugs to install on the receiver side of my home theater system. I hooked these up to the end of some 12 gauge Raptor Speaker Wire with no problems; simple installation.

The plugs attach solidly and the cables seem to stay put once everything is together. I like being able to unplug and plug in my cables without having to fight with the screw downs on the back of the receiver. These make connections much more convenient.

5 out of 5 stars Forget Monster Cable garbage these are 1/4 the price and 200% better quality!   February 9, 2008
ROB from NOLA (New Orleans)
Trust me people, do NOT drink that Monster garbage kool aid. I bought 5 pair of these, and they are of THE best quality out there. They are very simple to install (my wife did them, while i DID THE WALL FISH). I tried to $20 Monster Cable, because I did not think these would be here in time, they went back to Radio Shack for credit for an SPL. I just ordered 5 more pair, I needed 2 more, and I wanted a couple extras. 5 STAR quality ALL the way.
