Scam December 14, 2008 Paul A. Cacciola (Melrose Ma, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The item that is shown is NOT the item that is sent. They sent the Garmin Travel pack. I was buying a Garmin GBD 55 MSN Cable as show and is described on the page. I emailed them and got no answer. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER!!!!
Don't order this from Amazon.com December 8, 2008 Robert T. Jeffcoat 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this item and paid for it. This is a Christmas gift for my wife, Sandy. When it arrived via UPS, I opened it so I could wrap it up and hide it until Christmas. Lo and behold, a Garmin Travel Pack was in the box. The packing slip said it was the Garmin MSN Direct. I had Amazon call me and they called right away. I spoke with a nice lady who said she was sorry that this happened. She sent me a packing slip and an address label to send the item back so they could send me the item I paid for. The MSN Direct was supposed to arrive on Friday December 05, 2008. It didn't arrive. Then today, Monday December 08, 2008 it arrived via UPS. I opened the box and there in the box was: another Garmin Travel Pack, AGAIN!!!! I had Amazon call me, which they did promptly. A guy with an accent talked with me. I couldn't get him to understand that I was sent the wrong item again. He finally said that they couldn't exchange this item again and that my money would be refunded to my Check Card. I explained to this guy that I was disabled and that I had already spent everything I had in my account and that If I have to wait five to ten days for the money to show up in my account that I may not be able to get the MSN Direct here in time for Christmas. I got my wife the Garmin Nuvi 255W and I got the carrying case, charger, ETC. and I needed this to complete my wife's Christmas gifts. I asked him why they didn't send the MSN Direct and instead kept sending the travel pack that I didn't order. He said he didn't know and that he can't try to send anything else to me because this is the second time "I" returned an item to them. Duh... It isn't my fault yet I am being punished and being treated like "I" did something wrong. Since I won't have my money back in time to order it from someone else by Christmas, I had to use my wife's card to order her one from Hodge's Marine Supplies. Now when she gets her statement on December 16, 2008, she will know what I ordered and there will be no surprises for her for Christmas. We order everything we need from Amazon. I am bed-ridden and can't go out shopping and Amazon has always been prompt sending my items. This time they let me down and really ruined my wife's Christmas. I am very disappointed and I hate this happened. So, don't order this item from Amazon unless you like returning the wrong item twice and then being treated like "YOU" are the one who caused this screw up. Thanks, Robert
Its OK?!?!?! November 29, 2008 D. Holdcroft (Louisville, KY) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this item about a month ago for my new garmin nuvi 205. I travel every week throughout the Midwest. The product does what it says. The weather, stocks and headline update every 20 minutes. The only problem is that it takes about 15-20 minutes to download new info when driving through a new city. By the time the new data is loaded into the garmin, I've already driven through the city. This wouldn't be a factor if your spending more than 30 minutes in a particular area. The Coverage is limited to larger cities. Check the coverage on MSD Direct website before purchase.
