2 out of 5 stars NO digital tuner in this TV!   October 29, 2008
JustSurfin (West Suburban Chicago)
When I bought this TV in 2005, because it was a flat-screen that clearly said "HDTV" on the box, I assumed it had a digital tuner built-in. How can a TV that proclaims to be HD not have a digital tuner? There is no such thing as analog over-the-air HD, so it was very misleading. Not until I had the TV for several months did I realize it only has an NTSC tuner built in, so I need to use a converter box to get digital channels on it over-the-air. The TV is OK otherwise, but is there any way to get a digital card or install a digital tuner in it? I use it in a spare room that is not equipped with cable.

2 out of 5 stars Keep your old TV if you're considering this one.   August 23, 2008

This TV has issues that are just silly. No Closed Caption with component input, weird color problems, horrible remote compatibility and hardly any menu options are the norm.

4 out of 5 stars Disagree with first reviewer   December 5, 2005

At first I was disappointed in the performance of the set when used in HDTV mode with progressive scan input from our DVD. I bought a high quality component cable and it made an incredible difference. The picture is very good. You can customize the display but we defaulted to the "standard" setting and it looks great. Plasma would be better but for the price we are very happy.

2 out of 5 stars My regular TV is better than this one!   August 28, 2005

I have to say I am dissapointed with this television. The image is so pixelated when watching normal television, and I just couldn't stand it. It's worse than my regular TV, which is not widescreen, twice as big, and $300. Whenever a movie pans the shot across a scene there is some considerable distortion that makes me crave for my old TV (This is when I'm connected in HD with the right cables and movie). I've seen televisions with HD and this television is below the high end HD models. Also the shadows do not have any detail in them. The picture looks so wrong, I tried adjusting the color and brightness but it did not help. Don't buy this television, you will be disapointed!
