Good Value November 17, 2008 R. Sanchez The unit is small and inexpesnive. I'm using it indoors as an initial test. It receives all the HD television stations in my area. I might just leave it inside... br / br /
Great for the Money November 14, 2008 William Simmons (Pennsylvania) I ordered this after reading reviews of it and the DB2. Works great when attached directly to my laptop (usb tv tuner) and sitting on my roof, but once I ran the line down the house and into the basement, I lost 75% of my channels. Cable run was total from antenna to TV about 100 feet, so that is to be expected. Picked up a Channel Master 7777 PreAmp and was able to get all my stations again, though some stations till have a weaker signal than just sitting on the roof. I don't blame the antenna on that though, just a byproduct of having such a long cable run. br / br /My only complaint is the clip to hold the coax connector broke with almost no force whatesoever (was screwing in the coax). Twisty tie quickly fixed the issue, but definetly an area they cut costs on by using cheap plastic. br / br /I also tried this in my house directly to the TV, though I live close to a city, towers range from 8 miles to 30 miles with both UHF and VHF signals and wasn't able to get all at the same time with the anetnna in the house (second story). You loose too much when an antenna is inside or in the attic.
Great little Antenna November 13, 2008 Ding Guo (NJ, USA) Got it over a month now. Been using it with a Pinnacle HD TV turner pci card. Works great. At first I placed near the pc only getting 9 HD channels, but moving it over a bookshelf I got over 30 HD Channels! Checking on the digital antenna website, all the channels are at least 30miles away from my house.
Great antenna October 13, 2008 Richard A. Hughes The local transmitters (8 total) for my area are 16-26 miles from my location in a fairly hilly terrain with a lot of big trees. They are spread 52 degrees from north to south. I had an old 6 ft vhf/uhf antenna mounted on my roof and could never get more than 6 dtv channels and the reception on all but 2 was unreliable, signal strength varied 0-35% max. I installed the Dtv2Buhf antenna in the place of the old one, hooked up the cable and now get signals from all transmitters (12 channels) with signal strength of 75%. Would probably do better if I replaced the old RG59 cable with new RG6, but for now I'm very happy.
Good antenna October 8, 2008 Happy customer I read the reviews about this antenna and seem promising. I have determined I live in a transmittion hog apartment. Using this antenna only gave me 3 or 4 HD channels. Using an amplified antenna i got more HD channels, but the reception was kinda tricky. Placement of the antenna and people around it would affect the reception greatly. br /I'd say if you leave somewhere close to the transmition antennas, or far from big buildings this might be a good choice.
