Vastly improved over 22730 model January 1, 2009 designpro (CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This model addressed most concerns with the previous model, so don't believe its CNET review. Pros: It now includes smart antenna capability, simpler channel changing, better reception, and improved resolution (up to 1080i). Includes energy saving mode, aspect ratio controls, one touch signal indicator. Cons: include a channel guide that can only see one channel at a time (full guide has been removed), a small-buttoned remote that can't control the television, and an inability to remove specific channels.
My folks say it works fine October 20, 2008 Jeffry Winters (Healdsburg, Northern CA) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
My folks say theirs works fine and greatly improves the appearance of broadcast TV on their old style television but it has a weak manual.
useless and frustrating September 7, 2008 Deanna (Austin, Texas United States) 16 out of 20 found this review helpful
This digital converter occasionaly detects channels, but most of the time it says "no channels." I try over and over to scan for channels without success. Even when it says it finds 12 channels, as soon as I exit the Menu area to watch TV, it says "no channels." I thought it might be my antenna, cables, or location in the house so I switched it with my digital LCD TV (19" Ensignia) in another room. It still couldn't find any channels. Meanwhile my digital TV comes in just fine in the location and with the antenna that this device won't work with. Find something better.
