Great Product October 16, 2008 Benjamin Greenburg (Michigan) This wall-mounted component rack was easy to install and a great value. We installed it on the brick of our fireplace and had no problems at all.
Peerless Wall Mount Up to Snuff September 30, 2008 Tyler David Wolfgang (Brooklyn, NY) I have a toddler at home that is climbing on everything so I wanted the stereo and A/V equipment out of reach. This wall mount works great with my 42" flatscreen because everything is eye level height and only the one power cord dangles to the floor where my son can reach it. I simply secured the power cord to the wall so he can't pull anything down. My only wish for the product is for the bars to swivel a bit. My TV is mounted about 6' high and on a swivel so we can view from either side of the room depending on what we are doing. The remote controls for the cable/stereo/dvd/etc. sometimes require me to try a few times because the infrared is not pointing right at me all of the time. Even a 15 or 30 degree swivel for the bars would make a difference in positioning for best infrared performance. That's a wish list for Peerless, but in terms of how this compared to other things I looked at--- I'd say this is a great buy. I will likely add another right next to this one since we know that most A/V systems have more than 4 components and this unit comes with 4 "shelves" or bars for equipment. I have receiver, cable tv box, dvd, and a Modified X-Box. I'll likely add another unit to hold a VCR, BlueRay and network server. Thumbs up for Peerless.
Solid, looks nice October 8, 2007 J-dog (Pittsburgh, PA) I got this to put my oversized Sony 400-disc DVD player on it. I pretty much could not fit it on any other rack but this one. This thing holds it nicely now. It looks very nice, too. I have it in a living room. It was really easy to install, about 30min. br / br / br /
PEERLESS PM610 (not ready for prime time) September 5, 2007 Corey D. Price (Omaha, NE) Unlike other reviews I will not call this item a P.O.S. I will, however, state that unless you have a moderate level mechanical aptitude I would suggest you try another wall mounted stand. The wall mounting was self-explanatory and the shelves are quite stable. The problem lies in that the shelves themselves do not have adequate spacing for "all" makes of equipment. I had to remove one set of arms from the mounting bracket with a cutting wheel (kudos on your weld jobs)and re-weld them lower on the mounting bracket to allow enough space for my receiver, DVD, and cable box. Don't buy unless you can cut, weld, and swear.
Best I could find. August 27, 2007 R. Aull (Hawley, PA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I completely agree with Mr. Perez in I fell into the same dilemma. I ordered this mount since it had fairly good reviews and looked solid. I opted to get the glass shelves as well and got it in white to match my walls. br / br /It was very easy to mount and I had no trouble with any of the hardware. The thing that threw me off was the very large gap running down both sides of this unit. As was said you can clearly see all the wiring inside the unit, even if you tightly wrap or tie them. Its not a huge deal but not as clean as the picture would have you believe. In fact, I used that open strip since it was there. Instead of running all my cables through the top hole I just ran them in the side and tucked them in. My mount is on the side of my plasma, not the bottom, so I figured if its there I may as well use it. It made it easier to hide the wires going from the back of my TV to the mount using a wire trak. br / br /So, except for the open sides suprise I have to say I am very happy with this product as it was the best looking and sturdiest wall mount I could find. I have my audio receiver, ps3, Hd-DVD player, and cable box and it holds em all with ease. The racks are also easily adjustable for many different configurations and spacing requirements for different components. I would highly recommend.
