 Quiet Operation and 100% Error Free April 26, 2008

I got this to replace a Toshiba MK2016GAP, 20GB hard drive (I dropped my laptop, and the drive was damaged). It seems to be completely compatible, and since both are 4,200 RPM, I am not expecting any heating issues in this ultra-light (and therefore, cramped internally) TOSHIBA Portege laptop. My old drive was over 6 years old and had been very reliable until I dropped it, frequently working almost 24/7 (even then, I rescued all the data safely), so I am expecting the same reliability from this new Toshiba drive! br / br /The drive is VERY quiet in operation, when compared to the 12GB Fujitsu MHK2120AT drive in my other DELL laptop. I checked it with SpinRite software first (use Google to find it, since links are not permitted), and found no (as in zero) defects on the drive. I had no problems installing the O.S. and my trusty old laptop now has a new lease of life. br / br /This is a great way to get 60GB in an older laptop with a 2.5" IDE PATA drive, or add a drive into a slim external USB enclosure. I have been so impressed with the drive itself (and the seller) that I have decided to purchase a second identical drive to replace the noisy Fujitsu in my old DELL. br / br /A great purchase.
