Product Description Since it fits right over your camera's existing lens system, a telephoto converter affects the zoom range of your camera's lens. A 3.2x converter will more then triple your camera's maximum focal length, bringing things over 3 times as close. Nothing changes the way you see the world like High Definition , and no company does High Definition like Opteka. In the professional setting, Opteka's glass optics define High Definition. Opteka 3X Telephoto Lens October 23, 2007 Bruce Nosek (Chicago, Il) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After owning and using the Opteka 3X Telephoto lens for 10 months and taking many pictures with it I find it takes quite good pictures. It really brings in distant objects that my Canon A540 could not with it's 4X zoom.

This wasa very poor product. the lens took fuzzy pictures that were distorted at the higher magnifications. There was a rainbow effect around the edges. I would not recommend this lens to a dog.
Nice lens that produces great quality pictures January 9, 2007 F. Troxell (Phoenix, AZ USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I tried 3 different lenses before picking the Opteka Telephoto lens for my Canon A95. The lens fits perfectly on the standard Canon lens adapter, and with the zoom all the way out, you can really get some nice quality pictures of objects far away. Worked great on a trip down in Africa.
Not sure yet - now I am - not so hot - 2 stars October 8, 2005 K. Gittins (CA USA) 29 out of 31 found this review helpful
I already have the Canon 1.75 telephoto, but the 3.2x magnification of this lens sounded like a winner. br / br /Pros: br /1. Greater magnification than available Canon lens for about the same price. br / br /Cons: br /1. Seems to have significant color fringe (rainbow colors) in highlights. br /2. Mounting ring tends to unscrew from the lens and stick pretty firmly on the required adaptor. Make sure it is on the lens tightly first, then attach to the camera only moderately tight. br /3. Large size blocks most of the viewfinder requiring use of battery-power-robbing LCD screen (same as Canon). br /4. Lens caps are not super tight and will come off in the camera bag, so you will want to use the included pouch. br /5. Like the Canon lens, this must be used at the telephoto end of your cameras zoom, making it a fixed focal length setup. br /6. Not likely you'll use a flash with this lens, but if you do most of the image will be in shadow from the lens unless you use a bracket-mounted flash that is slaved from the camera flash. br / br /As with the Canon lens, you'll need an adaptor. I don't know if this tele lens includes it or not, but I got the made-in-Japan Opteka wide angle lens at the same time, and between them, I got only one made-in-China Bower brand aluminum adaptor. The silver aluminum is nicer than the black plastic from Canon, however, the Bower brand adaptor did not fit the camera very well and had rotational slop and general wobbley looseness. It seems to work though. It is a hair longer than the Canon equivalent, but I tested each lens on the other adaptor, and it seems OK with either combination. br / br / br /Subsequent note: After using it for awhile, I've not been able to get any sharp shots, even at 1/1000th second and/or sitting the camera on a table during testing. Only the central 1/4 area is barely adequate at 4 x 6 size. Bummers. br /
Very Satisfied April 2, 2005 H. Denton 22 out of 28 found this review helpful
I found the Opteka 3x Telephoto Lens for Canon PowerShot A95 to be a very nice and high quality lens and the silver adapter and stepping ring that was included with the 3x lens was an unexpected delight. This was money well spent. With regard to the silver adapter it takes the place of Canon's LA-DC52D Lens Adapter and is of better quality!
