Before you buy any cables, call the manufacturer of your Blu-Ray or DVD player and ask them if your model is CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) compatible. If it is, you need to buy/use an "HDMI to HDMI" cable. If it is not, you need to buy/use a triple color-coded "Component Video Cable" (connects High Standard Definition A/V components). However, with most Blu-Ray players and newer flat screen televisions, this is what you REALLY want to buy. The three color coded system of before is good, but HDMI cables are so well made that you will be sure to get the best picture and sound available. These cables are that important!
