5 out of 5 stars Very good and cheap   August 28, 2008
Rodrigo Gregorio De Heras (Santiago, Chile)
Very good and cheap br / br /I had to backup about 6000 Slides and this is a very good way of doing it. br / br /Easy to use and you have to put it in the lens, I have a 50 mm and I had no problem in doing it. br / br /Nice and cheap.

4 out of 5 stars What you need to avoid having to scan your slide photos!   July 1, 2008

The only reason I don't give five stars to this product is that it should include the option on purchase of picking out the ring size you need for your lens. Or the right step up or step down rings. br /As it is now, I had to get a separate set of step down rings to be able to use it.

3 out of 5 stars Good Inexpensive Slide Copier   June 18, 2008

This is a good slide copier for the money. You will get better results if you want to pony up a few hundred dollars for a professional side and negative scanner. I found it a bit laborious to insert each slide, then refocus my camera for each one. I wouldn't want to tackle the job of copying a few hundred slides with it, but if you have a couple of dozen at a time to copy, then it will work fine. I thought the overall quality of the copies wasn't bad. I used a Nikon D40X with the 18-55mm lens.

4 out of 5 stars Worked Very Well   June 12, 2008

This item worked very well with a Nikon d40. We were able to digitize a bunch of old slides and ran into very few problems. Pictures were sharp and clear, just make sure you have a very strong light to use behind it (table lamps don't work very well.) It's a little cheap-looking and feeling, but other than that it gets the job done.

2 out of 5 stars There are some problems   May 23, 2008

The Opteka HD2 Slide duplicator has two problems. br / br /1. Some old paper mounted Kodak slides are slightly too large and must be forced into the slide slot. Pliars must be used to remove them. br / br /2. The slide is not in correct alignment and cannot be pushed down far enough to fill the viewfinder, leaving a black band across the bottom of the frame. Thus one must either zoom in slightly to fill the frame thereby loosing part of the picture, or crop out the black bar afterwards using a photo editor. br / br /If I bought another slide copier, it would be the model with the movable slide receiver.
