 pricey media drive for HP desktops December 1, 2008

This product is over priced, but there are no alternatives if you want to mount the drive in the built in bay of some HP desktops. If you don't mind using a USB cable and a power cord, there are any number of cheaper alternatives available. Warranty is also shorter than other similar products.

The drive was easy to connect, and worked well at first. When left conneted to the computer, it overheats and makes a noise. I am forced to only use it for a short period at a time, so that it will not overheat. br / br /If used only to ferry information from one computer to another, it probably would be a good product.

I knew going in that I could find a normal external hard drive for less but if you have a HP that has the personal media drive bay, this is the way to go. br /Just slides in and works with no problems. br /They're a little hard to find in the normal electronic box stores so you can't beat Amazon.
