Not so sure. December 2, 2008 Jaime Carrier (Baton Rouge, LA) I purchased this item as an ipod adapter for a Pioneer touchscreen that I also purchased. The item took longer than expected for shipping, (about 2 weeks). The item was also poorly packaged. All in all though, it works fine so I am satisfied.
Avoid at all costs!! November 25, 2008 Brian August (Long Island, NY) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Heads up for anyone that is thinking about buying a Pioneer product. I bought the Pioneer AVH-P4000 DVD player for my car and it was the worst thing I could have ever done in my life. This player will NOT work with most IPODS!!! And the ones it does work with, well lets just say NEVER update the IPOD's software. Once you do this, all bets are off. The IPOD will be as useless to you as can be. There's no way to revert back to the old software and Pioneer, in their unyielding wisdom, has decided not to offer firmware updates for their products, or at least the one I got anyways. As you can see where this goes, an updated IPOD can't be recognized by the radio anymore and hence your out of luck. Something tells me we should all file a class action lawsuit against Pioneer for not advising us of this dirty little ploy of theirs. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
This thing is worthless November 19, 2008 D. Cambria (Southern Calif. desert) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased the CD-i200 to interface my ipod CLASSIC to the AVIC-N4 HU in my car. After I installed it and plugged in my ipod I got an error message on screen. Not being able to find the error code given in either owners manual, I called Pioneer customer (non)support. I was told the code meant that particular ipod was incompatible with the N4. I then asked which ipods do work with this interface? I was told MOST GEN 3 4 ipods will work. When I asked if he could be a little more specific, he got testy with me and hung up. I have since been able to learn that the N4 is also incompatible with the ipod touch. Which ipods will work with this item. I don't know. So if you have an N4 and an ipod, you better make sure that your ipod will work BEFORE you purchase this item. In my opinion it's worthless without that information. If you don't know, don't expect any help form Pioneer.
It plays video on newer ipods. Doesnt charge newest ones. October 27, 2008 Jose Lasso (Guayaquil, Ecuador) I have a 2G ipod touch and a 5G ipod video. It plays video from both. You have to play a video file and the first time you wont get a picture but on the second play it will work. On the ipod video every video i tried works, On the touch some resolutions wont play .I tested many video files and resolutions and 50% of them work. It works perfectly on the audio side. However it wont charge my 2G ipod touch and ive heard it wont charge the 3g iphone , thats why i didnt give it 5 stars. Im using it with the AVH-P4000 head unit.
Great product October 18, 2008 Noemi (Texas) THis cable worked great with my new stereo. Its the perfect length for me to be able to access my I-pod if the need be. Love the fact that I can connect my I-pod to the stereo and not have to worry about touching the I-pod to change a song or playlist. I would recommend this cable to anybody who purchases an I-pod ready car stereo, it makes the music experience more enjoyable.
