More than enough power. September 30, 2008 Uncle Rocco (Va. Beach, VA USA) One thing about camcorders is that you need them to be ready when the need arises. This battery has so much power that unless you are shooting Gone With The Wind, it should last for days. When this battery is freshly charged, my Sony CX12 shows 480 minutes of record time on the screen. Wow, that's a lot of time. With the regular battery you really have to carry two in case you end up shooting more than a couple of hours. With this battery you don't even need to think about having enough power. On the down side, it does protrude a bit from the back of the camera, but it's worth it.
Weak base support September 27, 2008 Sergio Sarita (Newton, MA, USA) Very good battery power! However the base of my battery was wekly glued since the battery detached from the video camera and fell off the floor leaving only the base case attaced to the video. Since I was recording at that moment ,all the recorded material was lost. br /I had to glue it myself with crazy glue. Ever since, hopefully the accident has not recurred. br /Otherwise, this is a solid battery that store many hours of use. br /Sergio Sarita
Awesome HUGE battery September 10, 2008 R. Tucker (Memphis, TN) The run time on this battery is awesome. I am glad I purchased it. It is pretty huge though. I shoot most of my videos on a tripod with LCD screen. With this battery, it makes it almost impossible to use the viewfinder. Big 'Ol battery:)
Good to have it September 2, 2008 Pranjal Saikia (USA) Good to have this as a back up. The battery comes with the cam is not sufficient if you are on a vacation and wants to shoot for more than 1 and half hours you really need a good backup.
Large Capacity August 26, 2008 S. Weise (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you're looking for a long lasting battery - this is it! It does take a while to charge up, but it lasts a long time and its worth it. Everyone complains about the size of the battery, I'm using it on the Sony HDR-HC7 camcorder and it balances the camera nicely. Based on other feedback I was expecting it to be bulkier than it actually was and considered buying one or two of the smaller batteries instead but I'm glad I didn't. This one is all I need and feels good on the camera. br /
