Amazon.com Product Description For people looking to step up to full 1080p resolution in a 46-inch flat-panel LCD, Samsung's 2007 model LNT4661FF is a good choice. Besides offering full 1080p resolution the LNT4661F also features a 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for rich blacks and subltle texture display, an 8ms response time panel for smooth motion, hidden side speakers, an NTSC tuner, and 3 HDMI ports. p bCompared to other Samsung Models/bbr The primary differences between Samsung's LNT4661F and the step-up LNT4665F LCD HDTV is in the contrast ratio and video processing power. The pricier LNT4665F offers a 15,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio compared to this model's 10,000:1 ratio, and also offers full 10bit video processing over this model's 8 bit system. The more expensive model should display finer gradients of shading making for more detail in darker scenes. The video processing difference should ensure smoother motion in fast moving scenes for the LNT4065F. p bVideo Processing/bbr The Samsung Digital Natural Image engine (DNIe) Video Enhancer refines all analog NTSC and wideband video inputs for an overall improvement in picture quality. DNIe improves contrast, white level, picture detail and incorporates digital noise reduction to improve lower quality video inputs. The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time to dramatically reduce edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. p bConnections/bbr ul libHDMI (version 1.3):/b 3 (1 CEC cabaple) libComponent video:/b 2 (Y, Pb, Pr) libS-Video input:/b 1 side/1 rear libA/V inputs:/b 1 side/1 rear libPC inout:/b 1 libHeadphone Jack:/b 1 libUSB 2.0:/b 1 /ul p bAudio Features/bbr High-quality virtual surround sound can be experienced with just the speakers built into the TV. TruSurround XT audio adds three audio enhancement technologies to produce an amazingly immersive sound experience. ul liDialog Clarity brings movie dialog into Focus during the playback of any surround-encoded material to make speech much clearer and crisper. liTruBass creates incredible deep rich bass allowing a person to perceive significantly deeper, richer low bass tones that are far beyond the physical low frequency capabilities of the speaker itself. liThe SRS WOW feature widens the soundstage by processing standard two-channel stereo material as well as multi-channel encoded material for a dramatic improvement in the playback of any stereo audio over a two-speaker system. /ul p bWhat's in the box:/b Samsung LNT4661F 46-inch 1080P LCD TV, remote control, 2 AAA batteries, Power Cord, cleaning cloth, owners manual, warranty card.

Very Bad Purchase! November 22, 2008 Bulldog Fan I did a lot of research before picking out this TV. The reviews here are great and the picture was incredible when I went to stores to check out all of the TV's. Everything looked good, even great, so I bought it in Aug. 2007. For one year I loved this TV, but in the 13th month of it's life, it started acting up. Sometimes when we turn it on, there was sound, but no picture. We called Samsung and they extended the warranty a month. It went to the repair shop on Sept. 14th. That repair shop had it two times, before they gave it back and said, they couldn't fix it. So Samsung had another repair shop take it. They now have it for the second time as well, with no fix. Meanwhile it has been over two months, and it is still in the shop. We are now trying to get Samsung to replace it, but things are not going well.It looks as if there is no fix for this problem, as I have learned it is pretty common and Samsung knows it. And now after researching Samsung problems and customer service, it looks like we will learn a $2,000 lesson. br /All I can say is go to Youtube and search Samsung problems and Complaints.com and put in Samsung TV. I would rather pay more to deal with a company that stands behind their products. They will never get another dime of my hard earned money!
Great Preformance November 21, 2008 Patricia Belus (Port Orange, Fl) It has been a year since my purchase and this TV has been great. I would buy it again.
Great TV - DO NOT UPGRADE FIRMWARE!!! November 15, 2008 Mark Balbes (St. Louis, MO) I have owned this TV for almost a year and have greatly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it for a well-lit room. It's matte finish doesn't show reflections. In fact, I've recommended it to several friends and relatives who have also purchased it. br / br /Today (Saturday), I updated the firmware, downloaded from Samsung site, to fix an issue with DVDs not showing at the right aspect ratio. I also have a Samsung BD-P1400 Blu-Ray player and routinely update the firmware on it. br / br /After updating the TV firmware, the display was completely messed up, showing a rainbow effect and large pixelated images. I called Samsung Customer Support. The short story is that they told me that I would have to have a technician come to the house to fix the TV. There was no way to re-install the old version of the firmware. To add insult to injury, they told me that I had inflicted damage on my TV by installing the optional update from their web site and that I would have to call them back on Monday to find out whether they were going to cover the repair. br / br /So now my Samsung TV is a useless brick and it will be several days before I have the privilege to pay to fix it.
Excellent TV October 27, 2008 Justin E. Johnson I followed the band wagon on this on cause pretty much everyone I know has this TV. Did not dissapoint.
Beware of Quality Issues - Don't Ignore Rebooting TV September 18, 2008 Azon_Junkie (CA, USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this set almost a year ago. It's my first HD set so I was really impressed by the picture quality. I love the swivel stand which makes it handy for reconnecting cables or moving around the room. My issue is with the general quality of this Samsung set. A couple of months after delivery, it started turning off then on by itself (no timer or accidental knocks). This happened intermittently with increasing frequency until it was a few times within the same week. Though not a big inconvenience at first, I ended up calling Samsung Support. It was fortunate that I did because the trouble quickly escalated and the video started shutting off on its own. In the process, the power supply and main boards were replaced twice. Then it was the inverter box. Finally the panel died and had to be replaced. Can I assume it's a new set now?? All these issues on a brand new Samsung less than 1 yr old! I bought this TV to replace my old Sony which lasted almost 20 yrs. So now with warranty running out, I'm nervously wondering how long before the next issue creeps up.. 2 stars because I do like the picture quality and I'm HOPING this is not a common experience with Samsung.
