First, I did not have any problems with the construction/build-quality of the screen. The housing is a good strong metal; it doesn't flex or twist. As far as operating it goes, it does exactly what I expected a manual screen to do. It operates about like what I remember the pull-down screens back in elementary school did, except it's easier to get it to lock or roll up.
I was a bit worried about getting a non-tensioned screen, but it hasn't been a problem. The edges have a few places where there's a bit of a slight curl, but it's insignificant with regards to the picture. (If nothing else, they're all out in the black border area, not in the white part.) If I look really close, I can tell the screen's not a perfect plane---but I have to really look for it when all the lights are on.
When it comes to watching TV/movies on it, the short of it is that no one notices the screen; nothing distracts from the picture. I think that's the point. Any flaws the screen may have, they're irrelevant when you're using it to watch something---with the lights on or off. In order to notice the screen instead of the picture, you have to stand about 6 inches away with a 1080p source---and you'll notice the pixels first.

I purchased this screen April 19, 2009, and have been using it for about 2 months. I am extremely pleased. No shipping damage, as other reviewers had reported, so Elite must have taken care of that issue. Mine was packaged with foam inserts that were placed around the screen, and the outside dimensions were the same size as the inside of the box, so there could be no movement, of the screen, inside the box. The cardboard box was sturdy enough, but still be careful when handling, as it is awkward. It's better if you have someone to help.
I paired this screen with a Mitsubishi HC5500 1080p projector, and all I can say is WOW! Looks incredible. Now, I am not saying that you could not get a little better image from a much more expensive screen, but I cannot believe that it would be a noticeable difference. This screen replaced a Da-Lite screen 1.0 gain, which was a much smoother screen material, texture-wise, but the resulting image was not noticeable different/better on the Da-Lite screen.
I really haven't retracted the screen many times, but when I did the mechanism seemed to work perfectly.
I gave 5 stars because at this price point, for a 120" screen, it is a very good screen/value, and I am very happy with the image.

This screen works great for me. I bought a Full HD projector and wanted to get all my money's worth. Some forums said a white sheet would work fine but I figured if I were spending the money for HD that I would want the full meal deal. I was a little afraid by the other reviews of some of the screens showing up damaged but hoped that since these accidents had occured that the company took extra measures to make sure they came out properly. That was the case for mine. I've had it hung up in my Movie Room for a couple months now and every time I fire up "Old Beautiful" I'm still amazed at the quality. My projector came the day before my screen and I wanted to set it up and get an idea of what it would look like so I did hang up a sheet for the first day. What a difference when I put up the screen. Like the difference between instant coffee and french press... sure, it will take care of your needs, but there's so much more yet to be had. Oh, ya... and by the way, there were many screens out there that were listed as "120 inches" but the big deal was finding one that was that large with a 16:9 ratio. Sure you can find one that's simply 120 inches, but when you try to fit your 16:9 widescreen into a 4:3 ratio, or even worse a 1:1, you only end up with a 90 or 100 inch image. How lame to spend all that time and money and not even get your whole picture! That was what sold me on this screen. I wanted big and beautiful, and that's just what I got.

I originally ordered this screen for the SuperBowl. Like the reviews here and on other sites I've found, it arrived damaged. You could not tell from the packaging. There was no damage to the box. It was not till I hung it up that I discovered it would not roll up. Like others, the little plastic support in the end cap was broken. It is a terrible design for a screen this big. Elite was no help. They could have sent me this small endcap and I would have tried to fix it myself but they didn't even want to talk. Send it back to Amazon they said. Waste of money and energy in my opinion but what could I do.
Amazon was amazing with their support. I had difficulty shipping it back because none of the Fedex, UPS, or USPS facilities near me would take it because it was over 109". They made arrangements to have it picked up. I really wanted to get a different screen but I had already setup the mounting for this particular screen and the price was good. Amazon was out so I waited a month or two and a new one finally arrived. What a HUGE difference. The packaging was a lot beefier and it looked so much more professionally packed than the first. The finish also seemed quite a bit better. I believe Elite must have done some redesign because it is a much better screen than the first one I received.
I think there are much better screens out there but the price makes this screen a real good buy. I am using it with an Optoma HD80 and the picture is awesome in low ambient light conditions.
