| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Opteka fisheyes allow photographers to get close to the action and achieve exaggerated perspectives. This creates drama and excitement. Advances in high-index / low-dispersion optical glasses, new barrel materials, and exotic anti-reflection coatings, along with the latest in computer-aided-design / computer-aided-manufacturing), are combined to produce lenses of unprecedented quality. Diamond-cut from crystal-clear, water-white optical glass, Opteka lenses are ground and polished to a precise precision. Because all Opteka lenses are designed and manufactured with the highest possible degree of consistency, you can swap lenses mid-shoot with no discernible variation in color or effect. The unprecedented purity, color saturation and repeatability of Opteka lenses virtually eliminate the need for lab color timing corrections caused by other lenses. This puts more creative control where it belongs, in your hands.

good for the money June 17, 2008 Craig Northcutt 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ok so i bought this attachment fisheye a few months ago. It is good if you don't want to spend a lot of money on a lens. It is built great but there is excessive blur around the edges when you take pictures. I HIGHLY reccomend getting a real lens like the 10.5mm nikkor fisheye lens. This is all around a good product but needs new glass. br / br /REMINDER: if you have a non-SLR camera I reccomend this. if you want some attachment fisheye then get this instead of another brand.
Opteka .22x hi-def fisheye lens for nikon March 27, 2008 P. Sanchez (Los Angeles, Ca.) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I wanted to shoot with the fish eye effect and this is the lens to do it or try it if you don't want to drop serious dough. It attached to my 18-135mm lens with the supplied adapter. Works also as a cool telephoto lens. I chose the opteka over some of the other cheaper ones you see on ebay because it was labeled as hi-def. The pics came out pretty clear and the glass quality seemed good.
Works March 3, 2008 J. R. Tornow 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The lense does what it is supposed to. It is just an attaching filter so don't expect prize winning photos. They come a bit blurry, definately not as sharp as the camera is capable of. For the price it is a fun lense. I wouldn't consider it a waste but if a Fish eye lens is made for my camera with both auto and manual focus I will buy the real one and get rid of this one...
fun lens January 8, 2008 J. negrete (southern CA) 18 out of 18 found this review helpful
I looked all over the place for reviews on this lens or brand with little luck. The Nikon 10.5mm f/2.8G ED AF DX Fisheye Nikkor Lens is too expensive for me so I decided to buy this lens not expecting much out of it. I just got the lens today and am happy with the purchase. I didnt need any of the adapters that come with the lens. It screwed onto the uv filter(52mm) on my 18-55mm kit lens which came with my d40. The autofocus works great with this lens attached but I noticed that the added weight creates friction when shifting from 18-55. The AF functions with this lens attached without slipping it seems to focus just as fast. You get a perfect circle in your image at 18mm. I am happy with this lens to mess around with and the money that would've gone toward the nikon fisheye I will use for a superwide lens instead Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 EX DC HSM Lens for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras or Nikon 12-24mm f/4G ED IF Autofocus DX Nikkor Zoom Lens. Hope this is helpful to someone and I wish I could upload a sample image...if its possible i dont know how.
