The eye of the fish July 6, 2008 Edna C. Burns (Washington, DC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The service was excellent. Delivery was fast. The fish eye len is good, but I cannot seem to get that oval fish eye look. It goes from wide to round. However, I am still happy with the product for the price.
Inexpensive for a reason June 19, 2008 R. Dsida (Winnetka, IL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This Lens for the Evolt system is more like an adapter for an existing lens. You put it on the end of your lens and it doesn't really produce a normal fisheye effect. The edges are darkened and the photo area is wider but not by much. I got this instead of buying the $600 dollar fisheye lens that Zuiko makes (even though I like that lens line) because I didn't want to spend $600 I guess it was worth a try but I am left thinking that if I want a fisheye lens (which I do) I will have to spend the $600 to get it because this lens is definitely sub-par at best. Plus it really is a hassle to attach because you need the adapter to connect it to the Evolt body. I would advise people against this lens and I wish I had read the reviews on this lens before I impulsively ordered it.
Dissappointed May 8, 2008 Michelle A. Collins (texas) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I ordered two items from Red_Hot_Buys one day and the next morning I rec'd a email telling me they cancelled the order. No explaination, just cancelled. I emailed them and asked why to which they did respond, "one of the items you ordered was broken" so they just cancelled the whole order! I sure could have used the second item but since they did not mention it, I can only assume they did not have it.
Cheap lens, poor quality May 4, 2008 Larry S. Cruikshank (Las Vegas, NV.) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This fisheye lens is cheap and you get what you pay for. It does work with the Olympus EVOLT E-300, but the results are poor. There is color distortion and focusing is made more difficult. br /The Macro portion of the lens actually works fairly well, but again without clear focus, closeups are poor quality too.
You get what you pay for... April 26, 2008 J. Le (Saint Paul, MN) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this lens for about $30, I figured you can't really go wrong with it for that price... I wasn't expecting too much, which is good, because this fisheye lens doesn't do a whole lot. This lens screws onto your existing lens where the filter goes, or even onto your filter. Depending on the size of your lens, it may need an adapter ring to have it fit onto your specific lens. The lens also unscrews off to review a small macro lens as well, however, i have yet to take any pictures with the macro lens. br / br /The lens looks and feels to be of solid quality, and comes with a nice pouch (it also came with the adapter ring as well for the Olympus E510 (58mm). I used it on the kit lens of my camera 14-42mm; the center of the image is sharp (a circular type lens; image is projected as a circle inside of the frame, but i assume if you zoom in, it can be a full frame), but the barrel distortion is very low, giving the image only a slight fisheye effect. I was definitely hoping for more barrel distortion than what this lens gives; i don't think it provides a full 180 degree hemisphere view. br / br /In conclusion, the lens seems to be built well, and the came with a adapter ring, and macro lens, but does not provide very good barrel distortion, reducing the field of view, as well as dampening the fisheye effect. All in all, if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably go with a different fisheye lens. br /
