This monitor is fantastic! October 19, 2008 Ellen Goodman (Chicago) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this elsewhere but it is fantastic! The resolution is beautiful, easy on the eyes, and I replaced a CRT so I feel like I have a new desk. I highly recommend this. Plug and play, no drivers, plug it into the computer and outlet and it's ready to go. This is my first LCD and I wonder why I waited so long.
Amazon description of this LCD is wrong October 14, 2008 Fishing Fool 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This monitor is the Acer X193W+ which means it has a native resolution of 1680x1050 which is great because many 19" monitors are of lower resolution. It is also HDCP compliant. The monitor did not have any dead or stuck pixels which is another plus. The build quality is very good. The plastic feels solid and heavy. This model can also tilt but I think it cannot be raised up/down. It has both analog VGA and digital DVI connections. It also comes with all the cables needed. The monitor also looks very stylish. The screen is the matte type not the glossy type. When the screen is black there is little to no light leakage at the edges. The back lighting seems to be pretty uniform throughout the panel at least the one I received. It has a nice quick mode change button where it changes from standard/text/graphics/movie modes.
Great Monitor September 30, 2008 Ben Sweet (Georgia, USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This monitor was received quickly, well packaged, and ready to go. It took very little time to install, and worked beautifully. I thought I might have problems because I was putting it on an old computer running Windows 98SE, but it worked fine. And it actually seems to display faster than the old CRT. We love it.
Decent September 27, 2008 Ben Tran 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Ok first of all, the native resolution is NOT 1440X900, its actually 1650X1080. On other resolutions, it gets really really blurry. The brightness setting has to be max out or really low otherwise it will produce a very noticeable humming noise, which bothered me. Other than that, everything else seem to work fine for now.
