The Worst Printer Ever November 6, 2008 S. Malkove (New Orleans, LA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the printer several months ago and it seemed to work okay in the beginning. It did make a lot of noise and had a few paper jams but the color quality was pretty good and it served it's purpose overall. br / br /Then it started having constant paper jams and sucking in the paper without warning - and I would get many error messages. Finally, a few weeks ago, it jammed and would not print at all. br / br /Called Kodak and after having to jump through the hoops that technical service was forced to go through themselves (about 3 hours on the phone), it was finally decided that the printer was defective. So, they sent me a new one that arrived today. br / br /After repacking the old printer and installing the new one, I took it on a trial run. Paper jam on first try. Immediately called customer service and again, had to go through the same routine of unplugging the printer, opening up the back of the printer, closing the front of the printer, taking the ink cartridges in and out of the printer, being placed on hold for many, many times, and being apologized to countless times. Finally, 4 hours later, it was decided that the printer head was defective and that I would be sent yet another new printer. Plus a new printer head. br / br /By this time, I told them that I no longer wanted any kind of Kodak printer - their cameras were fine, but their printer was so bad that it should be taken off of the market. However, as I had purchased the printer several months ago, it was too late for a refund. So, I will soon be receiving my third Kodak printer in 4 months time. Hopefully, it will not give me the same type problems, but I don't have much faith at this point. If it does, it will go immediately out on the curb for the trash people to pick up. br / br /The tech support was very good however, and I felt sorry for the several reps that I spoke to in the 7 hours total that it took to resolve the issues of two defective printers. One rep told me that most of their calls were due to the same type issues that I was having. br / br /So, if you still want to purchase this product, good luck! And hopefully, if you use your cell phone for communications, make sure that you have plenty of minutes saved up because if something goes wrong with the "easy share" printer, you will have to spend hours on the phone to get them resolved.
Bad Printer or just a lemon! October 2, 2008 K. benford 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have owned this printer since April 2008. Started having problems in br /August. Had to replace printhead "Kodak was very helpful and I thought everythng was good." September had a paper jam again and messed up the printhead. This is the 3rd printhead I have replaced in this printer. I have to contact Kodak again to try and find out what is going on. Right now I cannot recommend this printer, however I can recommend the Kodak servie tech's...........
Buyer Beware September 2, 2008 K. B. Parks (U.S.A.) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Yes, the ink is cheap, which is a good idea, but the machine is a piece of junk. It takes a couple of minutes to come online once you turn it on, and it sounds like a box of rocks while you're waiting. br / br /It prints so so slow, that it is like taking a giant technological step backwards. My old Lexmark would print 4 or 5 pages to one on this printer, and it cost me less than this one did. br / br /Almost every time I start it up, it doesn't print the first page, so besides being slow, it is annoying. br / br /Now, after using one color ink cartridge and two black ink cartridges, I keep getting a message to call Kodak service. I am ready to dig a hole and bury this thing and save myself any more aggravation. br / br /What a miserable disappointment. From now on I will steer clear of anything Kodak. br / br /
Great all-in-one for home use August 10, 2008 Jean Luc (TX USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have had the printer for about 2.5 months now and haven't had any problems. Had it set up and working in a matter of minutes. br /Some other reviewers seem unhappy about its lack of bluetooth or that it doesn't have a USB cable in the box. This didn't bother me because I wasn't expecting it to be bluetooth compatible, and I knew it didn't have the USB cable in the box. br /Pros: br /- Easy set up. Installed drivers from CD, plugged in USB cable, worked like a charm. br /- Prints fast br /- I love having scanning and copying capabilities built in. Have used both and it worked just fine. br /- Inexpensive ink br /Cons: br /- Louder than most printers (I have seen other reviewers comment on this as well) br /- The paper tray design is a little weird. The output paper almost lies on top of the input paper. Seems to work fine for smaller print jobs but my guess is that it wouldn't for larger print jobs. br /- Copying/scanning must be done one page at a time. But this is typical of most home printers. br /- Would be nice to have automatic duplex printing. But most home printers don't. br /So if you're looking for a high end professional office printer for high volume copying, duplex printing, etc., then this probably isn't the printer for you. If you need a decent home printer/scanner/copier it works great. br /
Best one yet!! June 22, 2008 Kadences_Mom 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have had my printer for about 2 months now. I love it. It prints pictures that look wonderful. The ink dries extremely fast, so the pictures don't smear. It takes a minute for the paper to load before the printing process. Worth the wait for the quality of pictures. The scanner works great. The pictures look just like the original one. The copy is good too. I don't really use the card slots, because my computer already has one. But if the one in my computer ever stops working, I will have a back up. The prices of ink are unbelievable. They also last along time. I started with a full ink cartridge, printed about 50 to 55 pictures, and still had 3/4 of a cartridge left.(Color cartridge, didn't really use any black.) My only real complaint is that the printer could be a little more quiet. I have just learned not to use it while my child is napping!! I should have read more on the box when I bought it also, and I would have prepared myself with the usb cable. Other then that.... I love it!!!
