Product Description When it comes to versatility, few HDTVs rival the LG50. It has multiple sizes, invisible speakers and 1080p full HD resolution. That's performance. That's LG. Displays HDTV programs in full 1920 x 1080p resolution for a more detailed picture. Unlike other sensors which can only sense brightness of ambient light, LG's "Intelligent Sensor" uses 4,096 sensing steps to evaluate its surroundings. Using a sophisticated algorithm, the LG processes picture quality elements including brightness, contrast, color, sharpness and white balance. The result is a picture optimized for it's surroundings, more pleasing to watch and which can also save up to 50% in power consumption. The AV Mode optimizes the picture into Cinema, Sports, and game Mode according to the video and audio content. The viewer has the ability to quickly choose the correct mode for the picture they are viewing. Automatically enhances and amplifies the sound of human voice frequency range to help keep dialogue audible when background noise swells. This TV contains the detailed calibrations necessary for professional certification by the Imaging Science Foundation. The resulting ISF "day" and "night" modes will then be accessible by the user to experience the best their LG HDTV has to offer.

Good luck getting warranty service August 1, 2009 Dwayne S. Klimenko (Girard, Ohio) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Bought this tv in August of 2008. June of 2009 we started getting thin vertical lines on 1/2 of the screen. Called LG service since it is still under warranty. Sent a service guy out right away. So far, so good. Service guy said it needed a new display panel. He tried to order one. The part is no longer available. Waited weeks to hear back from LG. Called several times. Always get some dot head over in India that won't put you through to anyone who can help. I continue to call daily just to complain and am finally told that they found the needed part and are arranging to have it installed. Service guy shows up again with a new display panel. One problem....not the right part. Won't work. Call the dot head again. He apologizes and is "so embarrassed" that things have taken so long. Unfortunately, he must send my file to another department....the one that you can't talk to.
So, going on two months now. No word and no help from Hadji.
Unless you are getting this TV for free, I would get a different brand.
Well Worth The Money July 10, 2009 Baseball Fan (The Villages, Fl) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great Picture, Great Buy! Loooked at many other Brands and Models, but for a 52" LCD HD 1080P this is by far the best value for the money. Set was delivered on the exact date promised, they unpacked it and set it up as promised.
I'm in HD bliss! April 6, 2009 W. Milnes (St Louis, MO USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Wow! I'm in high definition bliss. This is a great TV. I'm becoming a snob and won't watch anything that isn't in HD. I love this TV!

Very satisfied with this TV March 2, 2009 Roger Harris (Colorado Springs, CO USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought online, but only after looking at a LOT of TVs in stores. For me, the major selling point for this LG was that the screen is very bright and still has good contrast, making a very nice picture -- I didn't see anything better for anywhere near this price. The PC and USB inputs are very useful bonuses, which are missing from some of the cheaper 52" sets. I don't have external speakers yet, but the built-in speakers sound pretty decent so I'm not in a hurry to do that now. I'm using it with DirecTV HD, and the picture is beautiful, so I'm very satisfied with this TV.
