Product Description The IOGEAR Bluetooth 2.0 USB Micro Adapter offers Bluetooth connectivity at a fraction of the size of normal Bluetooth USB adapters. About the size of an adult fingernail, the IOGEAR Bluetooth 2.0 USB Micro Adapter allows users to connect to all the latest Bluetooth devices like cell phones, PDAs, mice and keyboards. Because the Micro Adapter is so small you can easily plug it into your computer without blocking any surrounding USB ports. The Micro Adapter also features Bluetooth EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) technology for transfer rates that are 3 times faster than traditional Bluetooth 1.1 and 1.2 adapters. The Micro Adapter also allows users to connect up to seven Bluetooth devices together and transfer even the largest files quickly and easily. With the Micro Adapter's lower power consumption, you can enjoy longer battery life on your notebook computer. This Bluetooth Class 2 adapter is also compatible with both Mac and PC computers, and offers a wireless range of 30 feet (10 meter). It is great for both home and mobile networking needs. Simplicity Itself July 29, 2010 Terrance Shaw (Virginia Beach, VA USA) It's been a long time coming, but I finally decided to go get myself a Bluetooth USB adaptor to connect some of the random Bluetooth devices I had laying around to my desktop. Of the many results I was able to find, this one just happened to have the best price point, with a good deal of positive reviews.
Once it arrived, I plugged it in to one of the free USB ports, and was amazed to see that my system (running Windows 7 Ultimate) was able to find and install the drivers for the adaptor just fine. And connecting devices to the computer was equally simple, through the Bluetooth control panel.
Of all the tech toys I've gotten in memorable history, this one has given me the least grief (ZERO) out of them all.
Great for Windows 7 64-bit and Wii Remote July 26, 2010 Mikey 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I primarily purchased this dongle after finding out that it is compatible with the Wii Remote.
Installing this dongle on Windows 7 64-bit was very straightforward. Since the CDs that ship with products like these are usually outdated, I downloaded the latest drivers from IOGear. Install those drivers before plugging the dongle in. After the relatively painless install, I plugged the dongle in, and it worked like a charm.
Communication between the dongle and the peripheral is great, even sitting at 15 ft. away with obstructions in between.
Works on Windows7 Ultimate 32Bit July 26, 2010 Rogelio Figueroa (Saipan, CNMI) It works on my Acer 5738PG with Win7 Ultimate 32Bit, used for 8 hours after i receive the unit today, and it's still working and connections are continuous with my Palm Treo 700P with EVDO. lets see if this unit will still work after a year. Very Good Shipping thought, Amazon Shipping is Smart.. We just need to follow-up on our Attorney General, whats up with those other items that were restricted or couldn't be ship to a US territory.
Great product July 23, 2010 0424 This very small dongle is the bomb. It does everything it's supposed to all in the smallest of sizes.
Does not work in Windows 7 64bit July 23, 2010 W. Beckles (Maimi, FL United States) Installs nicely, now errors at all. Windows will suggest an updated driver which installs fine as well. However you wont be able to pair with anything. Windows will find the device but will not pair. The reverse is also true in that the device will find the computer but pairing will not start.
