Product Description
This unique HDTV eliminates the need for an additional DVD player and numerous wires. Its internal side-loading player is hidden from view and maintains its slim profile. Plus, the set has three additional HDMI jacks that accommodate cable, satellite, HDTV and other popular programming sources.

1 out of 5 stars Make sure you don't like good sound quality and you buy an extended warranty because this is junk!   February 26, 2010

I will never buy a product from this company again. The sound quality is terrible. The dvd player went out after just 14 months, and I barely even used it. I bought a cheaper version from another company and have had for 4 years with no problems and much better quality. Look elsewhere or your out $800.00 on top of having to pay a repair man to try to fix it.

5 out of 5 stars Great TV and DVD combo   December 7, 2009

2 out of 5 stars Don't be fooled by the budget-friendly TV/DVD combo!   November 5, 2009
M. Yang (NY)
I currently work for a clinic. My doctor purchased this TV on December 08, and we had a HUGE problem with the DVD player right now barely a year after purchasing it.

My boss wanted to be budget-friendly a little bit, so he thought this TV was well-bargained for under $600 with a DVD player attached. On top of that, we play DVDs only for the patients. (no cable or even satellite antennas) Little did he know, this DVD player was NOT built for marathon DVD playing AT ALL. It is loud just like everyone had suggested here in the review board. It takes some time to recognize the DVDs and eject them as well. If you play DVDs in our way (roughly 5 times a week, at least 8 hours of non-stop play time, you will come to the point where it does not eject the DVD anymore. Unable to eject the disc, the DVD player will re-insert the disc automatically and assume you want to play the disc again... A HUGE headache for all the office staffs and few of our long-term patients, who suffered from over-dosage of Planet Earth (you can Q&A me on ANY FRAME, I kid you not, within the episodes of "From Pole to Pole," "Mountains," and "Fresh Water" and I can tell you exactly what's going on there... matching the music theme on the back, and mimicking David Attenborough's narration at the same time...).

Another negative aspect is the viewing angle range of the screen. off-angles are pretty-dark... our patients ended up cluttering in the middle of the room to watch the TV, quite amusing but very inconvenient for all of them. Perhaps it would be better for a bedroom TV.

I have read the entire manual and found NONE of the troubleshoot problems are related to the DVD player, which is how they hide their little secrets of this incompetent freebie. We are facing a potential charge of more than 200 dollars to fix this little thing. It could have been more budget-friendly if we purchase these two separately. So be aware of these TV w/ DVD players!!

4 out of 5 stars LG 32LG40 with DVD: my first HDTV   September 14, 2009
Imeldina (NYC)
This is my first HDTV and I have installed it in a small room of my apartment. Thus far, I have no issue with this TV at all. (Please note: I am not a sports nut or avid watcher of TV.) Though it is 720p, I did a bit of reading beforehand: for this screen size, 720p suffices. As critiqued, the black did not seem as black as other TV sets I viewed in stores before purchasing, however, in my apartment I don't notice that at all. Skin tones are very natural and colors are vibrant. The built-in DVD player works just fine. I do not notice any loud noices as reported in other reviews. For the money and specs, it is a good, value TV.

5 out of 5 stars Pleased so far.   August 27, 2009
C. Wollin (IL)
This was our second attempt to purchase a LCD television with a built-in DVD. The DVD player in the first one quit within the first week, and the warranty required us to send it out to be repaired, so we took it back and bought this brand instead. We have it in a bedroom and have had it about a year. It gets plenty of use, and so far the only problem we had was easily remedied. One day, when I tried to eject a DVD, it wouldn't come out. I panicked, thinking this one was going out to. All I had to do was unplug the tv, wait a minute or so and plug it back in. It reset and works fine again. That was several months ago, and that was the only issue we've had with it. Picture seems fine, no little spots like we sometimes get on the larger LCD in the living room.
