after spending all my money on a digital Nikon SLR camera I wanted to upgrade to a flash that had more power than the one built-into the camera. I stumbled upon this flash while searching through Amazon and I figured for 30 bucks, it would be worth a try. It turned out to be a very good buy. It's compatible with all the settings on my Nikon D40X. br /It is adjustable, so you can use bounce flash, or direct flash. In either case the flash provides plenty of light for pictures out to about 30 feet. I thoroughly enjoy it, and would recommend it to my friends.

This is a terrible flash. You have VERY little control over the flash (about the same amount as you have for the built in flash). The only advantages this flash holds over the built in flash is that it tilts and is a little brighter. Save up your money and buy the SB-600, it will serve you much better than this cheap little knock off.
