Thus far, been great! November 20, 2008 Scott Entwistle (University Park, MD) Its an external hard drive, and theres not much that I expected out of it except to back up my computer incrementally....and It does so successfully. Very sleek design, solid feeling, and hopefully long lasting! Great deal for the price!

Easy Simple External HDD November 13, 2008 S. Kang (New York, NY) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got it about a month ago and am getting another one. You don't have to install anything and it boots up quickly. Simply plug in USB turning on the switch is all it takes. Fits nicely next to hard drive. The design is simple and clean. Heats up fast, but then it IS an external hard drive.Iomega Prestige 500 GB USB 2.0 Desktop External Hard Drive 34270
Just What I Needed November 11, 2008 L. Duchek (Portland, Oregon) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the Iomega Prestige 500 GB External Hard Drive to use as both a backup drive and additional storage on a Dell system running Vista. I was very pleased and impressed that I just plugged it in and it came right up. No formatting was necessary (although for use on a MAC, there is a need to reformat the device). The free backup software that came with it (EMC2 Retrospect) may or may not be the most fully functional backup software on the market, but it was free and it is much faster than the stock Microsoft backup. All in all, this device was just what I needed and I am totally satisfied.
harddrive dead November 10, 2008 Joseph Krasnodemski (Maryland) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Product seems to work okay, after 2 1/2 wks product died, could not access drive even with other computers, amazon replaced promptly, called Iomega no response from them, bad thing is I have 30 days to return to amazon with or without data/private information or be charged for 2 drives. So far no one will help with recovery cost fees.
