This product works great for converting old VCR
tapes to a DVD disk. Just drop in the tape
and a blank DVD disk, hit the record button
and it takes care of the rest.

The VHS player functionality broke after five months with just three plays. Toshiba insisted on a $95 exchange fee because its alleged full warranty is only good for 90 days. What a joke! Shame on you Toshiba!!!

I basicly use it to record vhs tapes to dvd for work,I do on average3-6 per day it works great and was simple to set up. So far so good.

From the moment I got it out of the box with broken styrofoam I could tell something was going to be wrong. I was right we hooked it up and the door to the DVD player would not open. It also seemed to be cheaply made in China. BUYER BEWARE.

I bought this, used it about 4 times over the first 9 months, then we got the Sopranos box set and started watching it. After about 10 DVDs, this unit quit and will not load a DVD. We have tried other DVDs with the same result. I called Toshiba and they said they would replace it for $90 plus shipping to ship the old one to them and the new one to me. That's real nice of them to make it cost the same as buying a new one.
The first one of these I bought did not work at all. Amazon graciously replaced it immediately.
Toshiba products have apparently fallen drastically in quality. I would not recommend this or any other Toshiba product at all. Their corporate "warranty" policy is designed to basically charge the consumer for a new unit and call it a warranty claim. That is complete BS!!!
