Cheaper and better than the real thing November 2, 2008

Well this is sold as a replacement for the official battery you get from canon. It costs one fifth as much. So far so great. br / br /The picture here indicates that it has the same capacity as the canon one: 1060mAh. That's not accurate. The one I received is marked 2000mAh. Twice as much capacity! Of course those things are not always accurate, but...well, it's holding up pretty well. It's hard to gauge because both of these batteries last so long in the XSI. But it definitely performs well. br / br /In another location someone reviewed a generic replacement for this battery and said it was a slightly different size than the real one from canon and that you would have to pull it out with a toothpick or something. That's not true of mine. It fits perfectly and is exactly the same dimensions. It falls right out when you move the lever that holds it in place...just like the official canon version. br / br /So besides capacity, what is different from the canon battery? This one is physically lighter. br / br /Everything I've seen from this battery is better than the one canon sells. It's a real winner. I may just buy another one!
