It features Texas Instruments BrilliantColor, which utilizes a seven-segment color wheel and an algorithm that enables brighter mid-tones and more realistic color. The HC1500 also offers 1600 ANSI lumens of brightness and a 2500:1 contrast ratio. Depending on the size of your room, you can project the image from 40 inches to 275 inches diagonal. The HC1500 has a lamp life of 3000 hours in low mode and 2000 hours in bright mode.p bPure Connection From Source to Screen/bbr The HC1500 has HDMI 1.2 and component cable connections to ensure a pure input signal from beginning to end. With 10-bit processing, the information is unsullied and the result is a pure image on the screen. p Be advised that this projector (as with most projectors) does not include a tuner; to watch television, you need to provide a television signal, either through an external tuner or a cable box.p bEasy Set Up and Quiet Operation/bbr At just 6.5 pounds, the HC1500 is easy to transport and move around in your home theater room, and it has both vertical and horizontal digital keystone correction that makes it easy to mount on the ceiling or place on a table. The HC1500 operates at a quiet 25dBA that won't distract you while you're enjoying movies or television. A 12-volt Trigger jack allows the projector to control a compatible motorized screen. A remote control with backlit buttons is included.p The HC1500 is backed by a 1-year limited parts and labor warranty, and a 90-days lamp warranty.p bWhat's in the Box/bbr HC1500 projector, AC power cable, RGB cable, RS-232C cable, remote unit with battery, light shade cover, quick start card, user's manual, and safety manual. br clear="all"

Excellent home theater projector December 2, 2008 J. P. Dowd (San Francisco, CA) The HC1500 is an excellent projector that I have been using in a DIY home theater installation. It replaced an InFocus LP330 that I purchased used several years ago. The only drawback I have found, and it is a minor one, is that the throw ratio does not provide much flexibility. You should do some homework to ensure that your picture will fit on your screen, given the proposed distance between the projector and your screen. br / br /In my installation the screen and projector are both fix-mounted. Since both are wall-mounted not ceiling-mounted, I had no latitude to adjust the distance between the projector and the screen. At first it appeared that the smallest picture size (available through adjustment of the manual zoom lens) would be too big for the screen. But I found a projector software setting that changed the aspect ratio to correct the problem. The projector is reasonably quiet and the picture is very sharp. br / br /We use the projector primarily for "movie night" but sports also display well. I would highly recommend this projector to anyone interested in creating a relatively inexpensive home theater.
iTS....OK..... November 28, 2008 M. Marc (washington dc) This thing is ok, it looks good i guess, i had it set up while my old PHILLIPS tube tv was hooked up(with standard coax) and the colors were better on my old tv than the projector(plugged into my fios dvr with HDMI). The throw range on this thing SUCKS in comparison to some other projectors and I am picky. If im paying a thousand or so for a projector it better be loaded with options. If you wan't a LARGE image you better have a HUGE room to put this thing in as its location dictates the size of the picture.(the zoom function barley does a thing on this projector). As most people dont have a 25 / 20ft room to put this projector in do some research as Throw range is an important factor
Great Projector for anyone November 11, 2008 Timothy B. Kemash I first looked at many reviews on this projector online, I was mainly looking for something that was affordable but packed what I needed for whatever I might do. This projector had it all! It also was given the highest in reviews everywhere so my mind was made up. br / br /Now I'm not like the other guys who seem to be professionals at this type of thing, but i wanted something to play my video games on and such and maybe more. When I first turned it on I was amazed. The brightness level blocks out any lights I have on and creates perfectly crisp and clear pictures with the best color I've seen in a projector and I've seen a lot. Though I laugh at amazons pic of a family watching in a room which appears lit by sunlight, which kills the pictures brightness horribly, that was my only complaint about it. br / br /The hum wasn't very loud either, I didn't really notice it much and it was the simplest thing to set up. It works with my computer and PS3 perfectly and gives me a picture I can put my friends TV's down for. I laughed at the up to 300" in picture size, cause as long as its dark you can get as huge as you like. Parked the car in a parking lot and powered this baby up to play Guitar Hero on the side of a building and lets just say people noticed for at least half a mile, if that's not bright enough (it was night time though) I don't know what is. br / br /This projector filled my needs and more. Even when DJing I got all the legalities out of the way and played music videos at my dances. I can say that a few probably went home and bought themselves one of these. I would recommend this projector to anyone for whatever you need. I hear complaints on the aspect ratio not changing, well now things are all coming in widescreen, so there's not much reason to complain. br / br /This thing ROCKS!!!
Outstanding value October 20, 2008 Phillip Bucy (Lomita CA) I am really pleased with my projector. I have had it over 9 months and am still blown away at the quality. HD TV is mind blowing, especially sports. I have had many friends over, who have spent way more than me on large LCD TV. They cant believe how much I have paid, compared to their TVs. I have heard "Your picture is just as good as mine" more than once. I have it projected on a white wall, and it looks great. (One friend thought the wall was a TV.) It also works great with my PS3. Overall I think it is a steal for the price. I don`t see why anyone would buy a TV when they can get a projector. If you have the room, and a large white wall it is the only way to go. br / br /Phil
A true HD Home Theatre (HDMI) w/Blu-ray experience!!!!! September 30, 2008 forrie lowell If you want High Definition with HDMI and Blu-ray inputs at a very reasonable price the Mitsubishi HC-1500 7 color wheel DLP projector is the steal of the century for you!!! br / br /Not the newest projector but the best priced one for your home theatre. br / br /My Qualifying statement: My HD home theatre weighs in at about $2000 plus movies. A break down is; Mitsubishi HC-1500 $800 (orig $1495), Sony 5.1 Sound system (HT-ss2300) $400 (orig $500) and the Playstation 3 w/Blu-ray $400 and HDMI (Sony high speed) cables $160. Plus $150 HD Screen paint kit for my 108" viewing wall screen. With this I have created a home HD Theatre presentation equal to IMAX (on a smaller scale). br / br /The crown jewel to this fantastic home experience is the HC-1500. br / br /Summation of the PRO's: Computer (RGB), 12vdc control for remote screen,HDMI and component inputs for (narrow (4:3 ratio) 480i and 480p, widescreen (16:9 ratio) 720p, 1080i and 1080p) and S-video. Remote control allows you to; set aspect ratio, video input, set all features, complete menu access. Easy projector access manual ring for focusing and screen size zoom in/out. Lamp hourly use timer indication menu. ALSO infrared lens in front and rear of projector for 360 remote coverage. NOTE: reflect remote commands up to 30' off wall screen too!! No fan filters !!! (You must keep the area clean and the projector in ventilated room. Basically 6 to 12 inches from obstacles. An outstanding DLP projector that provides the best picture one can imagine. This picture exceeds most movieplexs quality by far! The 7 color wheel (most projectors are 6) adds tens of thousands of additional colors to your viewing pleasure. NOTE: Max projected image size is 300" optimum is up to 120". br / br /Summation of the CONS with resolutions: Minor points but valid ones; 1.) The HC-1500 HDMI input has no audio out jack or internal speaker. (With the HT-ss2300 there are 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output and auto audio output to 5.1 speaker system). 2.) Replacement projection Lamp assembly (VLT-HC910LP) costs over $300. (Lamp life 1500 hour in warm mode (brightest picture) or 3000 hours in cool mode (Normal brightness). Cool mode is the preferred). 3). For best results the room (Thus Home theatre) should/must be darkened. This ensures the HD experience is maximized. Believe me it is totally awesome. (NOTE: I have darkening blinds (Levolor cellular shades) which completes the theatre environment). br / br /Bottomline: This 7 color wheel DLP Projector (720p /(1080i)is the best and most economical to have until the True HD Projectors (1080p)are more reasonably priced (starting at $2900 to $10000). Enjoy, I do everyday!!
