30 Mins out off the box it broke November 30, 2008 Mark R. McMullen 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
TV broke in first half hour of use, Sharp sent some guy who buckled it in to the backseat of his mini-van to fix it. Would not replace the set, I'm pretty upset becuase the NEW tv I bought lasted a couple mins and now I own a refurb that has been cracked open and repaired. Don't buy a TV from this company, crappy products and horrible customer service.
Great HDTV... November 28, 2008 Hedda Gabler (Bay Area, CA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We purchased this TV for $1400 (with an extended warranty) about a year ago and have been more than happy with it. 42" is just right for a small apartment or condo, and coupled with the wall attachment, looks great above our fireplace. HD cable television looks awesome with the television, as does our PS3 blu-ray player. For the price, this is definitely one of the better televisions out there. Granted, there are better, but you will have to spend more for them.
what a piece of overpriced junk November 28, 2008 John Bihary (ATHENS, AL. USA) 1 out of 12 found this review helpful
Ater setting t.v. up and turning it on, a big puff of smoke came out from behind the back, and then nothing. Had to return for refund. Bought a polaroid 37 in. and it is wonderful.
Thin Grey Line Through Center of TV 3 months after warranty expired October 19, 2008 Stalin (Chicago, USA) 32 out of 44 found this review helpful
My original LC42D64U experienced a thin grey line through the center of the tv screen. It is not a banding issue as its vertical in nature. This issue was experienced by many buyers as evidenced by a simple google search. It apparently is a join issue between the panels. br / br /The only reason I would recommend this tv and sharp is that Sharps customer service was excellent. Emails were replied to within hours, English was spoken clearly and I was given a brand new model minus shipping costs within 2 days of reporting this issue, even though I was our of warranty. br / br /As for the television itself, the picture is excellent, and the amount of inputs are perfect.
Great TV September 18, 2008 Derek Powell (Grand Rapids, Mi) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is my first LCD purchase as I did my homework for nearly 3 months. I have owned this for 9 months now and absolutely love it. It has ample HDMI inputs, weighs nearly 20lbs less than its predecessor and looks "Sharp" even turned off. Along with HD programming, my friends couldnt wait to watch ANY sporting event. Hockey had OUTSTANDING clarity and the Olympics were just WOW! I would definately recomend this TV to anyone making a LCD purchase.
