We recently bought this item based on need and reading the reviews here and so far we are quite please. It is a hundred times quieter than the last model we had and we both noticed a difference before the day was out in the living room area. br / br /There was a plastic smelling odor that was quite strong when we first started it up but it gradually decreased over a 12 hour period. I am really happy that we did do research on these items and actually found the perfect one for us. You won't find anything as quiet and give you the cleaner air as this one. We'll be happy for a long time. br / br /Thanks to all of you out there that do review items as it does help the intelligent buyer make the right decision.

I bought this 6 months ago and run it 24/7 and the amount of dust and dirt I clean out of the filter ever 2 months is amazing. When I bought this I had a cough when I would lay down to go to bed and would cough through the night and wake up my girlfriend. After 1 month of running this air purifier I haven't coughed since. I also have more energy when I'm at home and don't feel as lethargic or feel the need to open windows to get fresh air into the room. If this cost 300 dollars I would still recommend it to everyone I know. Great product, operates very quietly and easy to clean. If I could give it more stars I would.

It was decent, not great. Got a lot of stuff out of the air, but didn't get rid of all the smell. It wasn't too loud but it died after 14 months. Just turned "on" but the fan wasn't running.

The air in my new apartment was terrible when I moved in. I'd walk in the door and start sneezing and my nose would start running. Whatever it was in the air was driving me crazy. I finally caved and after researching some air filters and finally settled on this one - not too expensive, and large enough for my living/dining/kitchen apartment-layout. br /The change wasn't by any means instantaneous, but i was patient and gave it two weeks. I forgot it was there (very quiet) and after a while I realized I wasn't sneezing like mad anymore! br /I love it. Now I've been introduced to the world of air purifiers, I will never go back.
